Despite meaningful progress actually actively being made, the status center reports a frozen task.
The folder size keeps increasing whilst viewing it directly, and yet the operation seems to be unable to measure its own progress.
Steps To Reproduce
Open .rar subfolder from Files
Copy & Paste to another drive
Witness
Requirements
I would expect the operation to either display that some progress is being made (assuming it can't monitor the exact progress due to it being a transfer from an un-extracted archive) ; or even better, for it to act exactly as it does under normal archive-less circumstances.
Perhaps both the fact that it is a transfer from one disk to another and that it is querying the data from an archive at the same time bug out the status center operation progress ?

Since this is a thing for over a year now and in related bug #16538 it was mentioned this will be fixed with release of v4, when can we expect this to happen?
This hasn't been fixed, as the issue you linked is a different one. Theres no timeline on when any issues will be fixed and v4 release has no set date.
