Thanks for the report,

  • Please provide steps to reproduce the issues. Like what you where doing when Files crashed and layout you are using
  • The log doesn't show any errors, can you type Event Viewer into the Windows start menu search > Click Windows logs > Click Application > Screenshot the first error that have Files.exe shown on the first line > Send this on GitHub (Email attachments don't work)

Is this still an issue in the preview version? https://files.community/download/preview

It is still an issue, just not as frequent (which is all the time) as with the official release.

That's good to hear. Is there a specific action which causes the crash to occur?

No, it's random. Sometimes it will crash on opening, sometimes it might crash opening or closing a tab, maybe when moving a file.

Can you reproduce the crash > type Event Viewer into the Windows start menu search > Click Windows logs > Click Application > Screenshot the first error (It will show Application Error under the source column and this symbol Image at the start) that have Files.exe shown on the first line > Send this on GitHub (Email attachments don't work)

I am having the same issue, so I thought post about it here.
It's really sort of random, for instance when playing with different layout/view modes, but there's many different instances where it closes down.

Should I record a vid and post it on youtube? Should be easier than just exaplaining/giving examples...

First try preview https://files.community/download/preview and then if it still crashes follow my instructions above would be helpful
