I would really like this feature. The protect branch functionality is only half worthewhile when you can get around it by creating a Pull Request and merging it even without permission on the branch it's being merged to. |

Hi! I noticed this issue which to me is very important. Since this seems to have been reported a long time ago, is there any update or a workaround? |
When a repo's specific branch is protected, I can still first
fork
it, and then commit to the new repo, and finally merge the changes to the original repo and the protected branch. The branch is not protected.The text was updated successfully, but these errors were encountered:
