The readthedocs build test for #669 has been failing because format of .readthedocs.yml is not compliant with the newly enforced config v2. Here is an example of the failed build:

Starting September 25, 2023, readthedocs removed support for building documentation without configuration file v2. For more info, see the blog post. The builds started failing around that time.
