Description

I do not have an option to reset a password

Expected behavior

I cant help customers with their reset password issues

Benefits

able to asssist cx with their online account log ins issue

There is a third party module that can add this function back to the admin, I agree not sure why this was removed from M1.

From our experience, you probably don't get far with this feature request. Changing the password directly in the backend is a security risk, unless you implement something where customers must agree with your password reset. For example a confirmation email or SMS. Or a temporary password that can be used for X mins only, enough time to reset the password.

Adobe will most likely refer to https://experienceleague.adobe.com/docs/commerce-admin/customers/customer-accounts/configure/password-reset.html or suggest to use a 3rd party module on your own risk. The one mentioned by @frostitution could be one option. Just make sure your admin accounts are secure.
