Preconditions (*)

Tested in this versions:

  1. Magento 2.4.8
  2. MSI disabled

Description (*)

While placing an order for a product with its entire stock quantity causes an issue during order editing from the backend. The error 'Product is out of stock' is displayed, even though the order should be editable. As you can see in below Screenshot-1.

Steps to reproduce (*)

  1. Create a new product and set its stock quantity to a any specific value (e.g., 100).
  2. From the frontend, place an order for the same product with the exact stock quantity (e.g., 100).
  3. After the order is placed, navigate to the Magento Backend -> Sales -> Orders.
  4. Try to edit the placed order from the backend.

Expected result (*)

The order should be editable in the backend without any errors.

Actual result (*)

The error message 'Product is out of stock' is displayed when attempting to edit the order in the backend.

Thank you for your report and collaboration.

We have attempted to reproduce the issue using the latest 2.4-develop instance and were able to successfully replicate the issue. Please refer to the attached screenshot for further details.

Steps to Reproduce:

Place an order with the entire quantity via the frontend.
Log in to the Magento Admin panel.
Navigate to Sales > Orders.
Select the specific order placed in Step 1.
Click on Edit.

We followed the provided preconditions and reproduction steps, and the issue was observed as described.

As a result, we are marking this ticket as "Issue: Confirmed."
