so. is anyone going to address the fact that after merlin saves arthur in 1x01 (i.e. leaps on him and bodily shoves him onto the floor) arthur can't fucking stop lookig at merlin like the smitten LOSER he is. he never looks away he never lower his eyes he justs. fucking stares. twenty seconds of a forty-five-minute episode are basically arthur going like 👁️👁️ ogling merlin unblinkingly after he grabbed him and forcefully hurled him onto the ground. yes i am willing to provide photographical evidence thanks for asking
i cannot stress enough how this scene goes on without arthur looking away. he just stares and stares. i feel like im not making myself clear. there's uther and merlin and they're doing the talking and then there's arthur. just staring. at the lanky guy who catapulted him onto the floor. praise be to homosexual desire i guess

merlin might actually be one of the most tragic characters ever. imagine having all the power and knowledge of the future that merlin had and doing everything you could to change it, only to realise that it was all for nothing and that everything you did only ensured it would happen. nevermind how merlin slowly lost himself to his destiny and became a parallel of what he was fighting against. they really shouldve called the series the tragedy of merlin cause thats what it was with nobody getting a happy ending.
