i think people should be nicer to schizophrenics

saying this because i've literally been subjected to panopticons and moral saw traps and had my every action examined and monitored my whole life and i just want to relax for once

NO. You're absolutely right. I have trouble taking my meds for this exact reason. I still try my hardest to take them obviously but I'll have long periods where I go completely cold turkey because I'm delusional about them being poisoned/contaminated, and the added pressure from my mom constantly begging me to take them makes that worse.

In another reblog of this post I complained about someone leaving tags admonishing their younger brother for being treatment noncompliant and I feel like something people forget is that forcing treatment on someone WILL MAKE THEM NONCOMPLIANT because they associate treatment with being forced and pressured into doing things they don't want to do. You need to make an environment for schizophrenics where they can actually feel safe before they can actually accept treatment.

mesmerised by this random photo taken by the hiking club I'm part of. the soft cool tones and radiant warm tones, the composition and lighting...

I think this is the best part of this photo. the point of that entire trip was to find and read an old storybook that they knew was at a particular hut. he genuinely is reading it out loud to the others. I can't remember what it was about, but this scene is the cozy and well deserved reward of a wild endeavour through rugged terrain. I think that's beautiful [:

They actually make physical media for a much larger percentage of movies than they ever did in the past. Often with a lot more care than any small release was treated in the early dvd days. Its just if you only watch streaming stuff or the big new recent box office hits you won't see that. It is so ridiculously easy to get physical media for movies that even 5 years ago you couldn't even find. Like yes Netflix is a stingy bastard but so many things are available on disc WITH special features than ever before

And here is where you can get them! (mostly American)

And specific labels:

And many of these have sales several times a year so if you're patient you don't need to buy full price for any of it.

you'll spend so long in deep discussions of gender online and then go talk to someone in your real life family and find out they still havent gotten past "women can be good at things" and its like oh okay jesus christ i forgot some people are still on the baby steps huh
