amal @amal-ashour-new is going into labor within the next couple of days. she is in a lot of pain. her husband is still injured. the least we can do for her is ease the worry of financial insecurity while she's in the hospital. she's going through a lot at the moment. she needs baby clothes and diapers, at the very minimum. please let's do something for her! fundraiser - proof
Unfortunately, my wife is dying before my eyes. With a broken heart, I tell you that her blood has become extremely weak, she suffers from severe vitamin deficiencies, and painful spots have started to appear on her body because of exhaustion and extreme weakness.
We cannot afford the medicine, and her condition is getting worse day by day.

I regret being the bearer of bad news, but I thought it should be shared that Walnut passed away in January of this year (2024). There's a lot of mixed info about the lifespan of cranes (due to people misunderstanding what a median is...) but the average for most species I know of is 20-30 years (in the wild if nothing eats them/they don't die young), and 30-45 in captivity, with the oldest known white-naped crane having loved to be 46. Given that she was 42, this old gal did good, and I'm certain she will be missed by folks here.

it is so important that you are a little bit ugly. please get comfortable with having unplucked eyebrows and nonexistent jawlines and wrinkles. let your blue hair grow out into an uneven pale green and your clothes be old and mend them and modify them until they’re unique to you. wear lipstick which doesnt compliment your skintone and mismatched outfits which went out of fashion 5 years ago. be a little bit too loud and a little bit too passionate and as weird as you can be because oh my god there is nothing more disturbing to me than perfection. beauty is manufactured and sold to us and you need to realise that you are a fucking animal to live a joyful life I am so serious. you cant obsess over aesthetics forever please just live messily and make your body your home however you please.
