Rejection Response LXXXI: Better Than Cults, I guess

I got a rejection that had the usual palaver of ‘not quite the right fit’ and ‘can’t wait to see more of your work in the future,’ which was fine, for what it was, but then there was a real sting at the end when the email concluded with a exhortation for me to ‘subscribe to our e-newsletter for more exciting updates!’ I was not amused to get a sales pitch when I was trying to sales pitch them.
