Three best friends--everyone on the SEAL team called them The Stooges. A little wild, a bit crazy, always fun to watch. And deadly in the war arena.
Lucas Branson, navy SEAL, tough, meat-and-potatos, straightshooter-to-the-max is one of the three confirmed bachelors. He meets Kit-Ling, also from a family of tough men, and yeah, maybe this relationship business befalling all his comrades isn't that bad after all. But then, on a secret assignment overseas, things become complicated when he bumps into Kit and her media crew looking for information.
How is Lucas going to stop his team's mission from becoming news? How is Kit going to work around self-interest and hard-hitting news? In a land whose borders and politics are nebulous, where danger explodes without explanation, where only warriors survive, Lucas and Kit must fight for their love and ultimately, their lives.
Jenn, as everyone calls her, likes to keep things simple. That's why she runs a roofing construction business, teaches, writes and does her own business taxes eight days a week. She considers herself a multi-cultural and well-rounded person. Workers leave her alone when she starts yelling at them in Chinese and Malay. She also studies German and Russian because she can't pronounce French very well. The most boring and interesting thing she ever did was translating documents from various languages into English, giving her an opportunity to see many countries. Having traveled extensively in her twenties, she now spends her thirties quietly with six noisy dogs. Shameless Promotion: Jenn was a RWA contest slut, having finaled in and won a bunch of them including the Marlene, the Merritt, and Indiana's Golden Opportunity. She is also a three-time finalist in the RWA Golden Heart contest before she became published. She would love to hear your comments about her books. She has been known to give away bookmarks and stuff to those who praise her.
AND, if your roof leaks, she can probably give you some advice!
Here are some wonderful writing friends of mine. I love their books! Please visit their sites and give them a try. Be careful. They are HOT WRITERS. Very addictive! Thanks--Jenn
This has to be my least favourite Glow! The characters interactions felt awkward. The hero 'Cucumber' is a Navy SEAL, he meets the heroine Kit at an inn. We are told there is chemistry but I didn't feel it, he leaves on an assignment, heroine is also kind of there. Honestly, the book didn't keep me engaged.
This one was a bit different from previous books I've read in this series. It was more humorous, more light-hearted and fun. I loved it, I loved the characters and the plot. And it was great to get a peek at Jed again. I'm still hoping we get the rest of his and Helen's story in Virtually One.
Anyway, back to Cucumber (Lucas) and Kit-Ling, our lovebirds in this book. I thought they were a great match, what with their chemistry and the way they could laugh with each other. Sure, there were some moments that stretched my ability to suspend reality and just go with the flow of the book, but I was willing to power on through because I loved the characters so much.
All in all, it was fun. A great read that made my day a bit brighter.
After a not so normal introduction, SEAL Lucas Branson who always goes after what he wants, knows he wants journalist Kit Ling Harrison. Kit is different than any woman he has ever met and although their time together is brief, the plan is to spend more time together after Lucas gets back from assignment. Imagine Lucas's surprise when he finds Kit in Taliban territory and even more surprising that she doesn't panic, she flourishes.
New author for me, this was a lot of fun to read. It was humorous as well as told a serious story. Definitely going to check out more from this author.
Hideous cover, but the book didn't rate much more in my mind. I didn't like the writing, packed full of telling and fake slang, and incredibly boring. (The slang might be real enough, but it doesn't make a story.)
From the language she uses I have the strong suspicion Ms Low is a blogger turned author. Left midway.
WOW!!! This book exceeded my expectations! Romantic suspense with an ample amount of humor. I loved it! Lucas is an alpha male to die for. Of course, Jed also made an appearance and it made me love the book even more. The chemistry between Lucas and Kit is PERFECT! Warrior is totally worth waiting for!
Cucumber one of the Navy SEALs known as the Three Stooges has met his match in Kit-Ming the sassy and kick-ass daughter of an Army Ranger. The humor with lots of pink involved adds to the fun of the story until the guys go back on duty of Afghanistan. When Kit turns up in the middle of a mission, the battle begins as Cucumber fights poison to remain the strong SEAL WarriorM he expects to be.
The conflict takes place in a forty-eight hour period but it is almost constant and much of it is based on actual events that have been changed to protect the women that take risks to find a better life in a male dominated society. Warrior is a story that made me realize how free my life is compared to other parts of the world's women populations and how lucky I am. Being aware of cultural differences and appreciating with respect for other ideas is important, as well as helping women and children that are oppressed.
Warrior was part of an anthology that I purchased.
I have to say I love me some Cucumber and Cupcake.I absolutely loved it. Gennita Low has a way of writing both action packed and humorous stories. The Pink Room is to die for and so is Kit (Cupcake) and Lucas's (Cucumber) banter. I love how she connects her stories and the characters from book to book... It has everything you could want in a military romance interconnecting missions, action, danger, humor, Hot Sex and Complete characters... Wonderful Job... Love the stooges and the phone drop :)
Kit is a public information officer for an independent service. Lucas was her best friend's brother who was a Seal. They met while Lulu was moving into the bed and breakfast inn her aunt was giving her. The attraction was strong but Lucas would be leaving for another mission. Kit was also leaving to write a story but she didn't tell Lucas where she was going. Little did know they would be in the same country and danger would draw them together.
Absolutely loved it! The writing was great and the humour was absolutely perfect! I could utterly believe in this couple and their HEA. What I particularly liked was the way that though this was a thoroughly entertaining read Low was able to balance that with a sensitive portrayal of the human cost of war... Brilliantly done!!!
Well written, this story was part of the Seal Anthology; unfortunately, it was terribly confusing for someone that hadn't read the prior stories. There wasn't enough current info to hold my interest, and did I mention I was CONFUSED! DNF.
I really enjoyed this book. The detail that went onto it was great, also I'm glad that there was so much focus on the troubles in that area. There were only a few things that I wish had a little more detail. I may read more of this series.
I liked this story not necessarily for the same reasons I liked the other books, but the way it enlightened the reader on the ongoing war and political issues, it supported in telling more to the situation
Well, frack it. I've already read this, in the "Sealed With A Kiss" anthology, in 2014. Now I've bought it again (March 2015). The blurb was generic enough that I didn't realize it. Oh well. I remember that I liked it, so there go the 4 stars.
Thoroughly enjoyed it! Thought it was a little short, but I like big books. I was a little confused with some of the background from earlier in the series, but it made me want to read the rest of it even more!
