1978年、幅10 mの鉄製筏に機材を載せ滝壺へ突入した《滝音曼荼羅》。怒涛の水圧でターンテーブルが毎分1万回転に達し発火、空中で爆散した直後に“音の残像”だけが滝壺上空で渦を巻いたという。観客ゼロながら、偶然通過した気象衛星が電磁波残響を録音し、世界的カルト盤『Echoes of Vaporized Vinyl』として流通したが、今の残存枚数は0枚とされる。
