closeting is never a closeted person’s fault, no matter their reasons for staying in the closet, no matter how involuntarily or voluntarily a person is closeted. closeting is a direct product of homophobia and heteronormativity and thus cannot be facilitated by a lgbt+ person. even the so-called choice to stay in the closet does not lay blame upon the lgbt+ person because they did not creat the closet, straight people did. closeting is entirely the fault of straight people and a closeted lgbt+ person is no less lgbt+ for it
