I just saw an acquaintance use "👖🛝" in place of the word genocide and. like. at what point are we going to decide that this kind of self-censorship is too degrading to abide anymore.
"grape" "sewer-slide" "the panini" I feel like I'm surrounded by Rugrats who overheard the grown ups talking about the news.
I'm tired of seeing people excuse algospeak because "corporations are making us do it." Why are we all letting them do that. The Internet is real life. Get mad about it.
BREAKING: 21-year-old protester, Kaden Rummler, was shot point-blank in the face by ICE. he just spoke about how he’s blind for life and almost died:
“I will be blind for life. I have fractures in my skull that they can't fix. They pulled a piece of plastic the size of a nickel out of my eye. I had shards of metal, glass, and plastic behind my eye and in my skull. They said it was a miracle I survived.”
What the hell is wrong with these people?

If you see the quote "I refuse to share my body with a man who wouldn't defend it politically" or any variation of it floating around the internet — it was Kat Blaque who originally said it and she would really appreciate it if people gave her proper credit for it but it's gone viral on a lot of different platforms and most of the people sharing it don't know it's from her or choose not to credit her on purpose.
Like I just know terfs are going to be parroting it pretending it wasn't said by a black trans woman about herself & her life.
by the way guys, this deployment of ice to minnesota is largest ever. more agents than chicago. we are a much less dense state. we are being inundated.
It is the largest Department of Homeland Security operation in history. And yet Minnesota’s Somali population (this operation’s primary target) is upwards of 90% naturalized American citizens. It’s even more of a manufactured crisis than most DHS operations. Genuinely living in Minnesota now feels like we’re a small country on the brink of invasion.
I feel like people don't understand how small the Twin Cities metro area is by the numbers...
Minneapolis (the city) proper has a population of less than 450,000 people. St Paul (our state capital) has less than 310,000 people.
And the whole metro area combined (which is actually much larger than the physical neighborhood areas that ICE is targeting) is only about 3.6 to 4 Million people. (16th largest in the nation, behind Seattle - Tacoma)
Compare that to Chicago? The city itself has 2.7 Million people and the metro area has 9.41 million people. (3rd largest in the nation)
There are about to be an estimated 3,000 agents on the ground here in a relatively small population.
That means that there is about to be 1 ICE Agent for every 253 people in just Minneapolis & St Paul. And that's not counting regular cops or the potential activation of the Minnesota National Guard.
They are literally invading within our own borders.
