[SPOILERS FOR BOTH THE BAD GUYS MOVIE]
You know, I haven't seen anyone mention this yet and I really have to get this out of my head but one thing I loved about the characterisation of Mr. Wolf and Diane Foxington is the fact that even though both of them are able to theoretically break into any secure facility in the world, the way they carry it out is in complete contrast to each other.
In most heist stunt related movies, the focused characters are usually equally trained and capable of doing almost everything the other can, but not here.
In both movies, Mr. Wolf and Diane carry out missions in discrete but separate ways. Diane prefers traditional stealth of being unseen and sneaky, opting for silent methods that ensure she's hard to be seen by any camera or person. But if she DOES get discovered, she's a fighter willing to take down anyone and EVERYONE in her way. That was pretty much the entire prison breakout scene in the first movie.
Mr. Wolf, however, prefers social stealth, opting for the more public and risky, albeit direct way of breaking in, using lies and deception to get his way into and out without anyone noticing even though he's always been there, just, hiding in plain sight. But when he does get discovered? He runs the f#$k away and slams on the gas full speed.
And it's emphasized even more so in the second movie when Diane and Mr. Wolf are training martial arts together. Diane absolutely outpaces Mr. Wolf in hand-to-hand combat by a mile away leaving my boy in bruises.
THING IS, YOU KNOW WHATS FUNNY ABOUT THIS.
THEY'RE LITERALLY THE OPPOSITES OF EACHOTHER'S STEREOTYPICAL CHARACTERISATION.
THE FOX IS TYPICALLY PORTRAYED AS CUNNING
THE WOLF IS TYPICALLY PORTRAYED AS A HUNTER
AND THE BAD BITCH THAT BITES
THEY LITERALLY COULD NOT BE MORE PERFECT FOR EACH OTHER UADSHUADHJFKAJKAFHSD
(just finished watching the sequel and i cannot stop looking for fanart of these 2)
