Haven't seen anyone talking about it here, but vocal transfeminist and writer Tara Knight has been sent a threat from the fbi insisting that she stop speaking about "radical gender ideology" and get rid of the past 3 years of her work.
A black trans woman is getting personally threatened by the fbi for being a transfeminist. What the fuck. Hopefully this gets more reach than my usual posts so that people who are able to can support her.
While I'm not denying this is something that happens at all, I really want to say that this is very much misinformation, and I highly suggest reading this article. It's absolutely a scary time for trans people, especially for transfems and trans people of color, but this is irresponsible and isn't helping at all.

Tara did not fake the letter, she later learned it was fake. She really received what she thought was an authentic letter written by the FBI, and she naturally responded in fear. Sure, she didn’t do due diligence before reporting on it (neither did yall when reblogging this…) but she’s not a scammer or a grifter! The hate she’s receiving is disgusting and if she wasn’t a Black trans woman I don’t think she’d be receiving 1/10th of the backlash she is now.

You know I hadn’t made this exact connection at first but something in my gut told me that people comparing ice to the gestapo didn’t quite feel right. This comparison does fit a lot better.
Historically, slave catchers would tear up freedom papers held by freedmen in order to destroy the facade of legal protection they had. Similarly, ICE have been repeatedly documented confiscating people’s birth certificates, passports, visas, etc, and throwing them away. This white supremacist state will always eschew the fictive legal protections it claims to have once it gets the chance, and it always has
we managed to pay rent by luck and donations and savings and it was just barely enough. theres still other bills, and rent in january. our situation is no less urgent. we're doing everything we can, longer hours, relying on family members who are not dependable, selling what little we have on marketplace and ebay. but i still have to ask for help. you are my only hope for survival this winter. i may get on disability next year, but its no guarantee.

look im just saying that capitalists invented the idea of "lazy proletariat who fakes disability so they dont have to work anymore". Not only to make able bodied people turn their backs on their own class, but also make YOU question and downplay your own disability. And yes, you will inevitably find out you have one if you haven't already, most people will find out as they get older. Its in your best interest to start radically accepting that all disability is disabling. If not for the good of society, then do it so you dont hurt yourself by working through your pain.

There’s probably a term that already exists for this but if there isn’t I’m gonna call it ‘Rambofication’ in honor of its probably most well known instance: Rambo First Blood was about a soldier, John Rambo (that’s his actual name I’m not doing a bit), returning home from the Vietnam war, so traumatized by war that he brought the war home with him to a small town, unable to adapt to life without strict military discipline and hierarchy. Subsequent Rambo movies were about how John Rambo was the only supersoldier tough enough and patriotic enough to kill faceless hordes of dastardly foreign commies.
Ergo, ‘Rambofication’ is the process of a series starting with a relatively nuanced or subversive narrative before its sequels become a shallow embrace of the very narrative it originally subverted. It happens surprisingly often!
