Castiel fell for Dean while Dean rises for Castiel.
It's such a simple phrase, a common realization for the masses, but the meaning behind it is much more deeper than I should interpret it and what's funny is that I got this realisation from having a half-conscious ramble with my partner because I refused to sleep.
Castiel, a soldier from Heaven, had its own garrison, ironically enough, not only fell from both Heaven's and God's grace but also fell to his knees for the same mortal he had reached down to the depth of Hell to save him.
While Dean who was constantly beaten down, met his fate under the sole of both his enemies and companions, wasted away, kept rising- kept insisting to stay on his feet because an angel, his angel, was there to show him that his place is not on the ground. Not even beneath it. That he is meant for so much more than what the universe intended for him.
An angel fell for a human and a human rose for an angel.
All for the sake of meeting the other half-way, in hopes and faith that they meet as nothing more than equals.
