Good lord I love dadspy

Whether or not you think Scout finds out Spy is really his dad or if Spy manages to keep a wrap on it for the rest of their lives, whether or not you think Scout eventually forgives Spy if he ever does find out...oh my god all the different possibilities, literally so tragic

Spy clearly loves Scout imo but he's been absent and running away for so long from parenthood that he's not even a father to Scout at all. He KNOWS how horrible he's been and there's nothing he can do to change the past or make up for it...it's up to Scout to choose to forgive or not and Spy is terrified of being definitively rejected or even hated by Scout

The parallels of Scout potentially rejecting Spy too...like Spy didn't want to be his father, so why would Scout waste time trying to be his son? Scout was fooling around about his dislike of Spy before, teasing him and telling jokes at his expense because he thought Spy was just stuck up and easy to make fun of, but he's not kidding around anymore when he admits to his teammates that he really resents Spy

Spy was probably relatively young when he had Scout, young and immature and stupid and afraid of having a son when his whole lifestyle revolves around being detached and anonymous. He likely regrets not being there for Scout growing up, but there's nothing he can do about that now...even if he wants to reconnect with Scout again, he knows he's better off just being his coworker, even if Scout suspects something else is going on

Even when he's sure Scout is about to die, he lies to him in a way that he thinks will comfort him in his dying moments while still telling the truth about how proud he is of him and how he regrets abandoning him.

And if Scout finds out and does eventually forgive Spy? Ough. The absolute level of mercy Scout would have to be capable of to do something like that, to look at Spy and all of what he's done and say "you made a mistake but are trying harder now and I forgive you and want to learn to love you and be loved by you" LITERALLY WEEPING AND SOBBING!!!!!!!

Most interesting and heartbreaking father-son dynamic in all of media for real </3

"Pride month is over"

WRONG! Your pride month is over! Me and all the other disabled queers are having pride month two: disability edition

Reblogging this again bc people in the notes are asking a lot of "Am I included? Am I disabled if I have x?" and I just wanted to add the flag here to show people who the pride month is for.

This is the new flag, the old one was more vivid and in a z shape, but it's been made more neutral to be inclusive of people with seizures or sensory issues.

Each stripe represents a different aspect of disability:

Red: Physical disabilities

Yellow: Cognitive & intellectual disabilities

White: (And this is the key one I think) Invisible AND undiagnosed disabilities

Blue: Mental illnesses

Green: Sensory disabilities

If you're autistic or have ADHD? this is your pride month. If you have a mental illness, it's your pride month. If you're hard of hearing, this is your pride month. If you have an autoimmune disorder, this is your pride month. If you are not diagnosed with anything but you know something is up with you: THIS IS STILL YOUR PRIDE MONTH.

This doesn’t do the moment justice. He took the swig of vodka, said “I’ll fucking do it darling”, and then ABSOLUTELY NAILED IT in one fucking take

Mood for 2019: “I’ll fucking do it, darling.”

Have the video, because you need to hear it for yourselves. Freddie Mercury’s voice here hurts, not gonna lie, but not because it’s weak or anything. Just because of the lyrics, and knowing how hard it was for him at this point. It’s beautiful, a strong, defiant song in the face of death, it hurts to know that this man was gone before his time.

"we need more weird queers!!"

you start parroting TERF talking points the milisecond someone says they are a lesboy or gaygirl

you cry when mspec lesbians/gays exist

you refuse to use neopronouns or it/its, even when those are a persons only set of pronouns

you expect a-specs to experience attraction in some way (yes, that includes platonic attraction)

you exclude intersex people

you can't even accept furries.

how to grow the fuck up

do not forget the patron saint of these weeks that we celebrate ourselves proudly and openly in the streets

her name was Marsha P Johnson, and we have her to thank for so much.

remember, the first Pride was a riot, and she was one of the brave souls who endured it to help carve the path which so many of us walk today. she helped found several activist groups regarding LGBT safety and wellbeing. and she was absolutely radiant, too.

thank you, Marsha. we remember you.

Gee, Tumblr would probably really hate it if you shared and spread this damning article … To the surprise of absolutely none of Tumblr’s LGBTQ users, it turns out the independent NYC human rights agency Commission on Human Rights (CCHR) found that Tumblr’s ham-fisted adult content ban in December 2018 disproportionately targeted LGBTQ users. The CCHR’s investigation revealed Tumbler’s moderation algorithms is demonstrably biased against queer content. As part of the settlement, Tumblr was obligated to review their prejudicial anti-gay moderation policies. Even more mortifyingly, they’ve also had to hire an expert on sexual orientation and gender identity (SOGI) issues and provide unconscious bias training to their moderators. I frankly doubt Tumblr has learned a thing from this humbling experience. Just recently the Tumblr algorithm flagged three ancient posts of mine as violating their terms. All three “offenders” were vintage homoerotic beefcake images (softcore by modern standards) roughly 50 – 65-years-old by Bruce of Los Angeles, Bob Mizer and Tom of Finland. (These are of course pioneering queer artists who routinely faced censorship and imprisonment in the fifties and sixties. Plus ca change!). They've been visible on my page - corrupting viewers -  for years at this point. I appealed all three immediately. Only the Tom of Finland one was approved. The other two are now hidden. So, they haven't learned much. Apparently, Tumblr – who loves to declare how hip, youthful, inclusive and progressive their values are - wants to restore trust with their queer users. I’d recommend we remember their hypocrisy when Pride rolls around and Tumblr splashes rainbow flags everywhere and attempts to pink wash their image.

In honour of Pride Month, this is worth a reblog! Don’t buy into Tumblr’s hypocritical “pink washing.”

In honor of Pride Month, remember that the CEO, Matt Mullenwag, openly harassed a trans woman because she wanted Tumblr to do their jobs and ban the transmisogynist stalkers she has harassing her.

Oh my gosh. I just found this website that walks you though creating a believable society. It breaks each facet down into individual questions and makes it so simple! It seems really helpful for worldbuilding!

Heads up that this is a very extensive questionnaire and might be daunting to a lot of writers (myself included). That being said, it is also an amazing questionnaire and I will definitely be using it (or at the very least, some of it).
