Always thinking about Adaine and Kipperlilly. Like I know Kipperlilly is SUPPOSED to be the foil to Riz, but god if she wasn't PERFECTLY set up to be everything Adaine hated. Wants to have some traumatic childhood so she can have an advantage in adventuring, but the only thing Adaine got out of adventuring against her parents was trauma and setbacks. Kipperlilly bottles up her anger so she seems perfect, thinking she's using it strategically when in reality she's kind of fucking herself over. Meanwhile, Adaine's anger is a part of her just as much as her magic is, so she wields it as such and shows very little remorse about it. Kipperlilly murdering (or otherwise being directly complicit in the murder of) her very sweet best friend because it would further her goal of gaining power, despite still loving Lucy. Adaine, on the other hand, literally risks any possibility of a good relationship with her at-the-time-kinda-evil sister just so that Aelwyn won't remember the torture she was put through, BECAUSE she still loves her.
Of course, Kipperlilly was being manipulated for a long time by an adult, but Adaine has suffered through similar things too, has suffered a LOT of it, and still didn't turn on those closest to her. Of course she would hate Kipperlilly, the girl is disloyal, which is so much of what Adaine despises in people.
