A theory about the Duffers' incompetence:
Okay, so the Duffers queerbaited us for years and that's why we hate them. However, there is a part of me that is trying to find some reason why they'd do that outside of pure cruelty.
I think perhaps, they might've just added stuff like Checkovs gun and fun cinematography because it felt cool. STICK WITH ME. I know that sounds insane, but sometimes we see stuff in other media that we like, so we replicate it, not understanding what that adds to the story.
By we I mean me, occasionally. When writing poetry sometimes I just say stuff that sounds pretty and don't really have a grasp on what it means.
The nice thing about that is that poetry, like all art, can be interpreted in many different ways. There's no such thing as a "true" meaning, there's only what the creator means to convey and how it's perceived.
The Duffers response of "It's up for interpretation" about everything is a sign that they have no real sense of what it is they're writing, which sucks. They should have a concrete interpretation of their own, but regardless of whatever is going on with them, we still have our own interpretations.
I'm writing this to cope with the fact that the Duffers chose to interpret the story in the most basic way possible which left it very unsatisfying to most viewers. In the end, it's their piece of art and they can do whatever they want with it. Hopefully, they're satisfied.
We obviously aren't satisfied with their version and that's totally within our rights. We have created our own story based on aspects of theirs and the truth of the matter is that our version is more impressive. We have fulfilled more narrative principles; we've come up with explanations for plot-holes and made a more complete story.
Just because we aren't millionaires who have the money to spend to make all of our interpretations come to life on screen doesn't mean our version is any less than the Duffers'.

First time being queerbaited!!! (Not fun)
I've never been queerbaited. If I hear a show is queerbait, I don't watch it. I never imagined how horrible it was. I've had a horrible year. This is a horrible show, but I feel bad for disliking it for some reason. I had to move a bit ago. I live in a very conservative place right now where everyone at my school uses "Gay" as their only insult. I thought maybe, Byler would mean that everything is okay, actually. Maybe, everyone is good and I'm just in a horrible corner of the world right now. It turns out everyone sucks actually. I hate to bring it down to silly terms but to make light of the situation "this is my villain arc". I'm genuinely so done with society. I'm going to go do some advocacy work when I'm older and move to Switzerland or some country where I'm less likely to deal with this crap. ABRHRHRHRHRHRHRHEGFEFE!!!!!!!

Post Ep. 7 thoughts (Byler could still be endgame)
Well... It's safe to say I'm very disappointed. I have to be honest and say it did give me doubt.
Sometimes, when I get doubt it makes me think I've been in some sort of psychosis spurred by group-think and the devotion of others.
Then I remember, this much dedication from people convinced Mike is queer doesn't come out of nowhere. He was "somewhere doing something".
Still, it makes me scared of being gullible enough to join a cult. During the whole "He was my Tammy" speech I was literally shaking with fear.
After the episode I felt lightheaded like I had low-blood sugar. Frankly, it could have been that now that I think about it.
I dunno if the protein I ate cured it or if writing 13 bullet points of byler proof did.
I'm curious how anyone else feels about the past few episodes. I never remember what went on in the previous episodes after I watch the latest one.
P.S. I watched it with my Dad and he didn't realize Will was gay even when he flat-out said "I don't like girls".
Mike will get Vecna'd in Ep. 7.
Okay, so Ep. 7 is obviously going to be Byler-centric. A lot of people assume Byler will culminate in a tense life-or-death situation. Then it would be dramatic and inspiring enough to convince the GA it was earned. A lot of people after the volume 1 power reveal came around to liking Byler because Mike wouldn't have survived if not for Will's love for him. This I think will happen again.
There's plenty of theories about why Mike is going to be Vecna'd which I don't feel like getting into, but you should check them out if you haven't seen them. I think that if it happens it has to happen in 7.
Finn in his recent interview with Jimmy Fallon says that Ep 7 is "enlightening". Shawn Levy said that Finn and Noah's best performances were in that episode. This all points to Byler but it also points to a peek into Mike's mind. The ending shot of volume 1 is from Mike's POV which we might get more of in Ep 7.
The majority of people have gotten upset by Mike's behavior in past seasons regarding his relationships. The only way to explain to the GA why he was so mean is to spoon-feed it to them. Not a lot of people want to watch hours of Byler theories analyzing Mike's internalized homophobia.
"How obvious?" Well, I think if Vecna taunted Mike about it, people would listen.
In season 4 Nancy sees her entire family suffering in her Vecna vison. That includes Mike. We haven't seen him go through the ringer much as of late so it must be coming up. Karen was mauled, Holly was kidnapped, and Mike? Mike has to face something worse than hurting his arm.
I think Vecna will show him the rain fight, dunno why, I just assume. What I am sure of though is that Will is going to save him. Will is going to confess his love for him which frees him. We might get a dive into why music saves people from Vecna. That didn't make the most sense. I think it would reveal that love is what saves people from Vecna.
Anyways, thanks for reading my desperate ramblings. Byler Lawyer's reaction to Ep 4 comes out in 2 minutes so I gotta go.
(This is all just me regurgitating other theories I've heard.)
BTW, unrelated but Mike has been in the Upside Down before. I've heard a lot of people saying he should go into the Upside Down since he's never been but that's not true. In season 2 he was in the tunnels with Dustin and Steve and fell. He got caught by a vine.
