Percy Is Tired

@indisputablypercy

Percy isn’t even my real name…what else may i lie about (23, she/her)

i'm glad people are getting what i was going for here cause this is something i REALLY wanted to focus on in a fic about the relationship between Morgan and David.

literally the FIRST thing we learn about their relationship is that he gave Morgan her lighter. and that it's gaudy and tasteless and overly expensive. but Morgan kept it. she uses it constantly. it's like, one of her most iconic props.

and David's final act in life is giving Morgan his daughter. and his daughter happens to be the most advanced android on the planet, her value incomprehensibly big. and while she uses this value as an excuse to protect her, Morgan never seriously considers selling Serra. she keeps her, and values her.

it's only two examples but it so clearly establishes a pattern. that this is a THING between the two of them. David constantly giving Morgan extravagant gifts and her pretending she doesn't like them but quietly keeping them and valuing them. so yeah that's something i really wanted in there and i'm glad it came across like i intended

"i'll pay the fine" is my favorite recurring line in of the Devil cause it encapsulates SO succinctly how any law that incurs a fine just doesn't exist for anyone who's wealthy enough. Morgan is CONSTANTLY incurring fines because she just doesn't care about following the law. obviously she's breaking the law when she's out killing people but it really shows that even in her daily "I'm totally a normal citizen" life she disrespects authority in any way she can get away with. she's not even that wealthy so this is probably where ALL of her disposable income goes. she lives frugally and pays her bills on time and all the surplus money is just "this is how much i can legally break the law this month" it's incredible to me.

"please help me budget this" "stop spending so much on the fine" "no"

so many characters with potential to be aromantic bisexual and yet so few exist. write more aro-bi characters you cowards.

it is. sincerely really weird that 2016 nostalgia is a trend. like i knew this day would come but not for specifically 2016. the meme that year was about how this was the worst year ever for most people

instead of "aromantics can still date," take a moment to consider phrases like:

  • aromantics can do whatever they want forever
  • aromantics have as much choice in whether to date or not date someone as alloromantic people do
  • aromantics can have whatever relationship with romance confuses you the most personally

and likewise, instead of "asexuals can still have sex," take a moment to consider phrases like:

  • asexuals can do whatever they want forever
  • asexuals have as much choice in whether to have sex or not have sex with someone as allosexual people do
  • asexuals can have whatever relationship with sex confuses you the most personally

Edit of the variety that I always have to add to posts like these, apparently: This is a post about real-life aromantics and real-life asexuals, not fictional characters. "Aromantics can still date" and "asexuals can still have sex" are things that real aromantics and asexuals get told all the time, regardless of whether we've expressed a desire not to have these things. If your first thought seeing this post was "ah, this must be about shipping a-spec characters," then please reread it again with the knowledge that it's actually about a topic that directly impacts real a-specs in real life. The way fandoms treat a-spec characters does matter, but not more than society's treatment of real a-spec people, and certainly not to the extent that so many people should assume that every post about a-spec issues is actually about shipping!

a bit from mysthalery's Ao3 fic "Professor Layton and the Otherworldly Stone" that made me laugh. I had a really good time reading it btw highly recommend that everyone read it NOW

People online are willing to hate for so little. I made an unserious post about how my friend watches instagram reels a bit too loudly sometimes and got comments about how he’s an awful person and that I need to ditch him as a friend. Buddy… it’s really not that deep

On the internet everybody hates you, your friends, your partners, your spouses, your parents, fucking EVERYBODY. Oh, you and your partner sleep in separate rooms because they snore? You must secretly hate each other and need to break up NOW. Your friend missed brunch because they overslept? Ditch them immediately. Your grandpa doesn’t understand neopronouns? No contact until he dies.

There’s a secret character in all of your relationships. It’s the internet, and they want you to be as lonely as possible. They hate your friends, family, and partners for the smallest of flaws

What do you think of this Flora design?

I imagined her sometime after Lost Future.

Here, she’s a student ( loosely inspired by Amelia’s design in the movie ) maybe studying robotics or something related to her father’s work.

I see her trying to become more independent: trying to meet people her own age (probably failing to make friends though), going out on her own instead of always being “escorted” by the professor. She’s still a bit anxious about crowds and the outside world, but she feels much more comfortable when she’s with someone she trusts.

I’ve loved Flora since I was a kid, and I always felt a little sad about how often she was forgotten or left behind. As a little girl myself, I just wanted a kind, pretty character I could relate to, so this is my way of giving her some space to grow 🤎

For now, I’m just playing with ideas and trying to build a small story that could take place after Lost Future. It’s a personal project, and I’m taking it slow since I’m still a student.

If anyone happens to see this and wants to share ideas — about the design, a possible story, or even puzzles — feel free to comment!
