imagine you read the local newspaper and in the section where they discuss a recent murder they describe it as “young adult unalived by serial game ender”. like you’re a toddler surrounded by adults who need to watch their language around you. you’re sanitizing and cutting down gruesome, horrific actions and situations into digestible baby words. i know this has been said before by other people but i’m so so sick of it dude, don’t speak advertiser language to me.
My cousin is like 8 and she watches so much youtube kids that she'll unironically say someone in a show "oofed" (because of roblox youtubers) and it's genuinely horrifying that that the idea of death and other serious topics have been washed down to silly fun terms because social medias can't handle serious discussion?
I feel bad that some of yall assume Reddit is just for republican neckbeards. it is currently fucking plastered in leftist posts, making fun of trump and musk, calling out trump for basically admitting to election fraud and musk for the fucking salute, people literally openly saying they wish these assholes would die. Some subreddits with broad other purposes have been largely converted into leftist communities. Believing tumblr is the only existing bastion of leftists or whatever WILL make you bitter and miserable lol

I have made a venn diagram. There's also art, but it's mainly this. LOADS of subreddits have now banned twitter links (celeste, hazbin, helluva, great britishh memes, dnd, trolley problem) because reddit is a lot less of "middle aged men arguing because they're know-it-alls" and a lot more of wholesome communities. r/silksong, r/teenagers, etc. Honestly, reddit has a very similar group of people to tumblr. I might just be in a bubble though.
