I ADORE Pencil BFDI but I’m afraid it’s in a way that would make other Pencil fans want to have me burned at stake.
I love how blatantly she is shown to be traumatized by what she went through with Four—she has very clear symptoms of PTSD—but the trauma does not magically make her a good person, and it excuses exactly none of her actions. She’s still terrible to other people, even when they try to help her. She’s still making terrible decisions, going as far as trying to BREAK THE UNIVERSE to try to make a better life for herself.
And it makes sense why!! Her actions make perfect sense, even if that does not justify them! She’s a wonderful example of a victim that goes on to hurt other people and cause problems!!
This is not Pencil neg—this is POSITIVITY. I LOVE this about her.
I’m just… not sure other Pencil fans would feel the same.
