AWWW YAY i'm so glad! i love live reacting in the comments its something i picked up from the x files fandom and still do (when i have time/energy) but i lowk get a little nervous leaving literal novels in the comments... dw about responding to them unless you want to i know its so much shit i put in there
back in 2021 i was hyperfixated on squid game for the first time (oh how times do not change) and i finally finished watching it during a family vacation to nyc. on the plane ride back home i sat the entire time and drew the same image of seong gi-hun (almost) thirteen times. when the flight was over the random old man sitting next to me said i was a very talented artist and that gi-hun was a handsome man. over four years later, here are those drawings:
today i’m thinking about nam-gyu talking to myung-gi in starry night and more specifically i’m thinking about “when you stabbed thanos, you were fucking awesome”
he is clearly struggling when he delivers this line but to me its like he’s forcing himself to believe it. he does the same thing when min-su ditches se-mi in mingle—his opinion of min-su flips drastically, he goes from thinking the kid is a loser straight into dude you were so cool the way you threw scissors like that!
i guess my point here is that nam-gyu prioritizes himself over everything else. when he sees somebody screw someone else over for the sake of their own survival or success or whatever else, he recognizes it as something he would do and he praises it. he wants everyone to be like him. im just sitting here wondering like. what happened to him that he’s so aggressively committed to this mentality that even when its his friend who died and someone he’s clearly seen grieving over, he compliments their murderer on a job well done
or maybe he ain't fucking grieving that much... ugh sick of this "he forced himself ti say it + he stuttered" take cause it's 100% wishful thinking
