“Right, sorry…” Xaos said now taking a moment to process all of it. “Right… I guess that makes sense. She definitely looked at me like I was crazy for mentioning magic. So… Do we have any plan…? I… I tried to tell her about her life. Didn’t work, obviously… And I don’t know what to do…”
“These things take time I’m afraid. We checked for DID and psychosis, and she doesn’t quite fit those. I’ve tried taking her to places she’s been before, and it’s helped but… she will create new reasons. I… I don’t always have the heart to tell her she’s off.” He admitted.
“I don’t have that power even if I wanted to.” Wait, did Elliott have that power? Questions for later. “I was able to gather that too. Yknow, trauma blocking shit out. Elliott what do you know about what happened? What was the last few months? And what’s this stuff about the hospital?”
“Well, the two of them asked me for some advice. Not that they ever took it.” He sighed. A bit of frustration rising.
“Ok. One question at a time please. Her memory of anything with magic seems to be the most… twisted. She remembers being taken away from her dad, she remembers being experimented on a little. She just doesn’t know the why so, she filled in the blanks herself for it all to make sense to her. I guess a hospital made the most sense. I think the magic she used caused her to forget anything about magic.”
“I don’t fault you for not remembering this… You were wrong and it was really traumatic.” And that word caused a small realization in his eyes. Trauma, that had to be a key here. A source to everything. Of course he didn’t know how to approach that, and she deserved to rest a little.
“You focus on studies. I’ll put my attention to helping with your memories. Who knows, maybe your older brother can help me.”
Something about the way he was talking to her now rubbed her the wrong way. How could he say she was wrong? It’s not like he knew her that well.
“He probably can, I mean… Elly knows everything. He helped a few come back already.” She smiled. “He’s in the kitchen if you want to talk to him now.”
“I will. Thanks for taking me here, for listening to me. For talking to me. For not just thinking I’m crazy.” He gave her a little tap on the arm before standing up, making his way to the kitchen. Once inside, he approached Elliott.
“So… obviously shit is wrong here. And I feel so helpless. You gotta be able to help me, man.”
“My life is pretty crazy right now. It’s ok.” She smiled. Now that he left she was going to try and cross-reference what he said with the few people she knew.
Elliot had been in the middle of cooking when Xaos approached him. “I guess that depends on your approach and intention. It feels a little wrong to use magic to force her memories back when… I think she forgot them on her own. There isn’t really a pill you can just give her either.”

“That sounds right… You really weren’t good with details of when stuff happened. But you did ger away with him. You and your brother, pretty much saved each other.” A warm smile pulls at his lips. “Go for it! I know you’ll get in. And… I think focusing on school could be good for you.”
“N..on? That’s the time our heart got really bad and so…” It felt vague now. She was so young at the time the details were hazy. “Our dad did give us away so, the state took care of us and then later on Elly adopted us.” She explained.
“Ah, well I don’t really know what else to do.” She shrugged.
