Yes.
Alrighty so I’m working on a fan piece for someone’s Spooky Month animal au (their animal au has Dexter as a rat, Captain as a badger, and Shotgun as an orca) but the problem is I couldn’t exactly figure out what Darcy would be as an animal (technically I already have my own animal au where ppl suggested what she would be but since this is a separate animal au I had to come up with a different option)
So I filled out a few personality tests with the answers Darcy would chose and compared it with the animals that the results are most commonly associated with:
Snow leopard, panda, deer, and penguin.
Problem is I couldn’t figure out exactly which one I should go with till my friend jokingly suggested she could be a hybrid, and I realized that’s a great idea.
It could be like Fox & Bunny where Bunny is a pig, Guinea pig, hamster, seal hybrid, and Fox is a cat and eel hybrid.
But I’m still gonna make it a poll, so I can figure out how much each animal should contribute to her design visually (like if deer wins 80% she’ll look mostly like a deer)

Edit: I just found out an interesting fact! In the official Hungarian subtitles for Mokey Show 425 it lists Captain’s name as Barnabás! This means this is his official name!

Drew these a bit ago, top image was a reference for their heights (Darcy isn’t there but she’s somewhere in between 5’9 and 5’11), the rest are what I was drawing for some Halloween images, but wasn’t able to finish digitally drawing over and refining them before Halloween, that and I lost the save for the parts of it I got done, probably will attempt it again some day, but not for awhile.

I just found out there is already another Spooky Month story called BitterSweet, so uh, whoops.
Too late to change it now, but if I could go for another name it’d probably be the name of this song.
Cause when I really think about it this song really does tackle some of the themes in Spooky Month.
All the villains (or at least all the human villains) in Spooky Month focus on temporary and harmful vices without paying attention to the more important things in life, Dexter, Bob, Mr. Clown (Garcia), Mayor Evermore, Ignacio, and the cult (and probably Skid’s dad) all let their bloodlust, gluttony, greed, pride, and wrath overtake them, they treat the world and other people as just play things, meaningless, and let it get out of control, then they can’t go without it, then it destroys them from within, they lack the real meaning and foresight of needing a human’s touch to really still be human and function healthily and happily.
The world, people’s lives, and animal’s lives are just a toy to them.
Just a thing to play and then throw away.

Asking around for the funsies, what do you guys picture Darcy’s voice sounding like? Like any pre existing voices?
Just curious, one day I wanna maybe make a reading for Bittersweet (since I quite enjoy reading stuff out loud) and have the characters voiced, and I have a few ideas on what her voice could sound like, but no exact selection.
I haven’t been paying attention to any Welcome Home theories for awhile, so I apologize if someone has already talked about this, but I looked at the Floriogrophy cards, and noticed they’re the same ones our neighbors are wearing on the merch site
I looked up the meanings
Anemone means forsaken love in Greek mythology aswell as love and death (Sally is big on the dramatics and forsaken loves in her plays, and her and Poppy might have something going on)
Dogbane means comfort and emotional support (Barnaby is a lot like an emotional support dog for Wally)
Forget-me-not means basically what the name says, a plead to not be forgotten, but also love and remembrance (something bad is definitely gonna happen to Frank)
Primrose means optimism, new beginnings, and “I can’t live without you” (Julie is optimistic, it’s also implied she moved to Home to get away from her family, and she deeply cares for and loves Frank)
Lavender means purity, healing, and represents the LGBTQ+ community (Eddie is gay, and if something does happen to Frank he’ll definitely have to heal)
Zephyr flower means beauty, hope, and rebirth (In older art it is implied Poppy is trans)
Auricula means strength and resilience (Wally does seem to be a lot stronger and resilient then he lets on)
And Apple blossoms mean peace, long life, and through facing hardships you’ll be met with good things (not sure how to translate this to Howdy yet, maybe it’ll symbolize how he’ll metamorph into a butterfly?)
