Gender? Where? (don't let it find me)

@ispinprideflags

18+ Birb lover. They/them. Icon credit to lightningfilledsaber.

my friend just told me that there's a secret second dashboard that solely contains posts from people you've turned on post notifications for, and when i click the link in the messages it opens it within the tumblr app, so the tumblr app also has a secret second dashboard for post notification blogs, and the only way to access it is to open the link for it within the app.

i literally love tumblr

i have a private pinned post that just has a link to this dashboard on it, it's great. two dashboards for life

wow! i was really hoping someone would organically reverse-engineer this and find that dash.

here are a few other "secret" dashboards:

these are all just taking existing feeds of content and putting them in a dashboard-like format... the "Stuff for you" tab/feed is the same idea.

does anyone else remember grass. the warmth of the sun

If you hate someone enough to start documenting everything they do online, then you need to log off. If you cannot open your social media without thinking about the person you hate, then you need to log off. If you feel compelled to insert yourself and your hatred in every mention of that person, no matter how brief, then you need to log off. If your entire online identity revolves around hating someone and sharing posts from other people about how much they hate them, then you need to log off.

"But it's totally justified! Look at what they're doing!" is the mindset of every single stalker. Your reasons don't matter. It's stalking, and it's wrong. This goes double for any marginalized person, especially trans people.

This is genuinely so evil

  • Avoiding funding studies on black men specifically and then using the lack of studies as justification for denying care
  • There is even less screening for BRCA variants with no sign this will increase if this goes ahead
  • I work in primary care. We already have to justify that PSA screenings are necessary, and most of the people having the tests are actively pissing blood
  • Yes, prostate cancer treatment can cause incontinence and impotence- which is why most patients with less aggressive cancers are put on to active surveillance, and those that do need treatment make that choice with the full risks and benefits explained to them
  • The classic covid strategy of "If we don't test for it, numbers go down so we can just pretend it isn't an issue"
  • Using the fact that some of the people who have cancer on active surveillance may eventually need treatment as evidence of overtreatment- it reminds me of how puberty blockers are considered bad because most of the people on them will eventually transition

Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men. Around 55,000 men are diagnosed with each year, and 12,000 men die from it in annually in the UK. That the government is being advised to deny people even the option of knowing whether they have it is such a huge step back for medicine.

@doberbutts this feels relevant to the stuff you talk about, even if it's not specifically about trans black men.

Unfortunately black people being abandoned by medical staff is nothing new:

Black women are 3-4 times as likely than white women to die in pregnancy and childbirth. Black women are also twice as likely to develop diabetes and preeclampsia, 40% more likely to die from breast cancer, 40% more likely to develop and 75% more likely to die from cervical cancer, 20% more likely to be pushed into a C-section and overall receive nearly 30% less anesthesia and pain control than white women.

It is just sort of common knowledge that hospitals are to black women as police are to black men. Except police do target and kill black women, and hospitals do neglect and dismiss black men, as well.

You should look up the Tuskegee Syphilis Study sometime. You'll see that this is hardly the first time a country's government has deliberately played eugenics with black men's health.

"gender is a social construct": fairly easy for leftists to understand

"race is a social construct": a bit harder to swallow for some but still reasonable

"mental illness is a social construct": this one gets you hate mail in your inbox

Gotta add previous tags on here, because this is gonna live rent free in my head from now on. The stars are real, constellations are not. Damn. Tags by @smoreofbabylon (if you don’t want me to put you on blast like this I’ll delete lol!)

"the stars are real, but the constellations are socially constructed"

For anyone keeping up with the Stranger Things "secret good finale" conspiracy (yes, it is just the Sherlock "secret good episode" thing with a new show.) the current theory is that tomorrow, in place of SNL, the actual finale of Stranger Things will air. They are presenting this as something plausible, and not something that Lorne Michaels would have beaten the Duffer Brothers to death over if they even suggested it.

The stranger things finale is going to drop on Martin Luther King Jr Day because Stranger Things embodies the values of MLK

back when i was like 13 in english we read of mice and men and then we had to write a letter from the perspective of one of the main characters in it as homework. fun task! i liked creative writing. i picked lennie and purposefully wrote in simple, kind of broken sentences and made a couple spelling errors that were very clearly intentional (think 'wuz' instead of 'was') to show, yknow, it's lennie writing it, he's not gonna be out here writing elaborate prose. and then MRS BURTON MARKED ME DOWN FOR SPELLING AND GRAMMAR. and said i should use MORE COMPLEX SENTENCE STRUCTURE. i am now 28 years old and my blood still boils thinking about this
