As part of Design and Technologies, Year 3 and 4 students will match various bridge types to the image. Year 4 science students will be looking the way forces can be exerted by one object on another through direct or indirect contact.

Students will learn about equal, unequal and multiple forces, and how those forces act together.

Students will learn about the different types of forces that can be exerted by one object on another. They will learn about non-contact forces, contact forces, friction, gravity and push & pull.

The 'Light and Shadow Posters' detail how light from a source forms shadows and can be absorbed, reflected and refracted. They show shadow comparisons, classifying materials as transparent, opaque or translucent, learning about the properties of an object and how they affect the colour of the object, using mirrors to demonstrate reflection of light and recognising the refraction of light at the surfaces of different transparent materials.

Students will use technology to research the questions provided on their given card.

Students will examine sources of energy and decide whether an energy source is sustainable. They will examine fossil fuel energy, nuclear energy, solar thermal energy, solar panels, wind energy, water energy, geothermal energy, biomass energy and wave and tide energy.
