Really cool game, visuals are excelent. I just should warn to players: don't try to change to high graphics, when I did, my game got broken. Other than that, game is really solid, I'm saving the game to try again sometime, cause unfortunately I died many times before give up, I have a long list yet, so I'm trying again later, but I played enough to have an opinion. In my first atempts I died poisoned, cause I didn't understand well, but in Itch page you said that I should use "Defend" when the enemy is in lower instance, so after read that I could avoid being poisoned, is an interesting mechanic in a turn-based game, so we have an advice before a special attack, I think I would like if the game itself explained that and not only in the page. I liked how we can avoid the combat trying to learn the moves of the enemies, so I could, for example, to get the Armor without a fight with at least 3 rats that I avoided. The risky mechanic is also cool and fits the theme, I got some chandeliers in my head lol. The weapons are a cool progression, once my first weapon takes 4 hits to kill a rat, the second weapon takes only 3 hits. Btw, in the armor room, I saw a chest, there's a way to open that? Or it's only a decoration? To an update I would suggest to make them working, chests are cool and fits the vibes of your game. I couldn't fight the skeletons but I liked theirs visuals, I died many times against the wall lol, so... Congrats for your game, really enjoyable experience and I like the retro style.
Hi, Tech Artist here,
Thank you very much for such nice feedback!>
As you can tell we had some time issues and probably the biggest was Balance.
So no worries about dieing too much (every dev died like 300 times before beating wall).
If you revisit the game before the end of jam, feel free to use Spam of Attack Button bug, just to get an idea what content is in game!
About chests yes and yes, they were planned as loot storages, but
Scope Creepwas an issue haha.I'm really glad you enjoyed our little experience:3
Beautiful entry!
This game had a ton of small touches like dodging the chandelier!
I would have loved to see more info on equipment stats, and wish there was a better way to deal with poison.
I recommend adding a vision cone or something so you can sneak around enemies more predictably or initiate a sneak attack.
The difficulty was a bit high for me, but you did great work on this unique game!
Thank you very much for the review!
I'm glad to hear you enjoyed our game!
Honestly, as you can tell, balance was the main issue in our game haha:'>
And thanks for really nice idea!
Such a good production value! I loved the visuals and the audio was also pretty cool. Initially I didn't understand why I wasn't dealing any damage to enemies, so I came back to this page and found the answer. I agree with others that it was a bit difficult to understand what was interactable and what wasn't in the beginning, so I just roamed around spamming the E key. I was also surprised that doors were simple decorations (as far as I could tell). There's also a see through one! Perhaps I missed some secret? I think I managed to complete the game by exploiting the spam attack glitch, although when I got to the cookie I could not interact with it. The final gates shaders VFX were very nice.
Great job, you have something appealing that only needs some tuning, keep up the good work!
Hey, Tech Artist here!
Thank you very much for your review <333
As you can tell, we had 🔥big plans in our heads🔥
Sadly, we didn't get time to implement all the planned content:<
Even chests were planned to be interactable!
And most of the bugs wasn't fixed cuz of the same issue:<
But we really appreciate feedback, it's really nice to hear warm words!>
P.S. As a guy who did all shaders, I'm so glad you mention Gates Effect🤩 <3
I know the pain of game jam cuts all too well! We'll get better and faster through practice!
Hi, so unfortunately I get this error few seconds after playing start button, tried 3 times. The gameplay seems interesting and I really love visuals of old dungeon crawlers and pixelart. Wish I could play it

That is so sad you had this issue:<
We were using Unreal for the First Time, so probably we messed up somewhere in settings :(
But anyway thank you for review!<3
Hello, saw your post so here my honest review :
The game is really beautiful, I liked the design choice to have "frame-locked" animations, it work well and give it a really cool identity.
For the balancing, the exploration part look fairly balanced, It took me some times to find the good path but not too much, and exploring when the game look good is cool.
For the fighting part... I don't know if I misunderstood something but the game is hard as hell, like a simple rat can poison me and kick me half of my life like this, but we have a lot of healing so its ok, but when a skeleton OS me ? In my third run I think I managed to survive to on of their hit, maybe that's because I had the second armor (ratslayer was its name ?). To be honest, I don't know if its intended or a bug, but you can spam attack when its your turn, so it made the whole game playable for me, killing every ennemie on my first turn. But for the last boss, even with this trick, I did not manage to OS it and don't worry for him, he did it ahahah. As I said, maybe there is a mechanic I'm missing and if you point it to me I would be happy to retry.
For the rest, there was some bug in addition to the one I mentioned before , like sometimes, a skeleton start a fight with me then disappear, leaving the fighting UI forever, or once I took a chandelier after already having one on me and it sent me flying out of bound on top of the map (it was pretty funny too) but I know it's a game jam and I wont take this in consideration for my notation anyway, just for you to know.
The UI is simple but work (even if you could make it a bit noisier to match better with the look of your world), I think you could add some stats and/or a description on the different items. Also, when you focus the UI and press TAB, it won't close it but switch between different type, which is annoying..
The sounds are great, I was just missing the feet on the ground sound which could be a great addition to the already cool ambience.
Overall it was a great game, very nice job to all of you !
Hello , Art director here , Thank you so so much for the full detailed feedback and honest review , very rare in a jam where they just swap rates and call it a day so thank you for that .
In mind i wanted the dungeon to be very dark and grimy , almost hopeless , and i think we nailed that part , for the 'frame-locked' animations i think it fit like a glove specially with our pixelated look.
For balancing i feel like it was all over the place , we didnt have time to play test and we ran out of time and this is what we have for now hehe,
For the bug it was definetly unintentional LOL , but im glad it happened since it helped balancing out 3 skeletons + 5 rats in that lever which was horrible and unplayable for some.
For the step sounds our composer cooked up alot of them but they didnt make it in the last version
overall im very proud of my team, I think we will fix it after the ratings are done , again thank you so much for the detailed answer , I'll be playing yours later on for sure !
Really cool atmosphere. Reminds me a little of dark souls. I won't mention the bugs since you guys seem to be well aware of them. Great work overall!
Thank you so much for the feedback and for playing our game Amare !!!
I've been playing your game. It's truly impressive, with all the achievements I've achieved in just one week. I've found a few bugs.
1. When it's my turn to attack, I can click continuously until the enemy is instantly defeated.
2. I haven't found an antidote for rat poison, so every time I get poisoned, I'm sure to slowly die.
3. During battle, I suddenly encounter random encounters, as if the battle is no longer ongoing.
4. The health UI can be different from the health displayed in the tab.
Best of luck with this game. If it's further developed, it could definitely be a great game.
thank you so much for playing our game and for taking the time to share your feedback. to heal from rat poisoning you can use the mushrooms (shroomydote)!
Very ambitious! I quite like the atmosphere, the art style, and the turn based gameplay. Sadly, I ran into a problem early on: I tried to change the graphics level before the game started, and the screen became out of place. I tried to change it back or put it on windowed mode, without luck. I deleted and downloaded it again and tried to clean up some folders, but it's still stuck with the wrong screen. I will try again later on!
Thank you so so much for the feedback and the kind words , unfortunelty we were so little on time we didnt make the settings actully work , however a nice trick is to use Alt + enter , should solve all your problems , let me know what you think of the game when you comeback !! <3
Lucky for me, Alt + Enter worked! And it's indeed amazing what you accomplished in a Jam. The whole dungeon ambiance is great, from the color palette to the little insects running on the ground. The coin mechanic was a neat idea, and the turn-based combat is cool too. I like that it happens in the same space and not a cutscene. The fights are quite hard (I was squashed by that unexpected wall!), and respawning from zero can become frustrating over time. But nevertheless, it was quite enjoyable! And after the first problem, it ran perfectly. Congratulations!
Big W For the team!
Thank you for playing our game! :DD
Hi, I've seen your posts (I'm against the braindead spam too) so here we are!
First of all big up for developing something so ambitious for a game jam and for managing to coordinate with a team of this size. I'm really a fun of turn based combat and I use Unreal too so I like you folks!
The visuals, the ost and the atmosphere in general is amazing, I can't say for sure about the game design because I didn't finish it so I don't know if the gameplay evolves, but I still have some feedbacks:
- Collectible items need to be more evident. Potions are ok, but I think you need something that you can use with any kind of item. For example a non-intrusive outline (I know the E ui popup would break the mood that's why I'm not suggesting something like that)
- The UI art direction clashes a bit with the 3D visuals. It seems to come from another game (I don't know if this makes sense to you)
- Defeat enemies it's not rewarding except for the fact that they are no longer there to bother you. And after suceeding to escape there must be a sort of cooldown that prevents you to challenge again the same enemy for a certain amount of time (Those darn rats wouldn't leave me alone)
Hope this feedback will help you
If you try mine let me know what you think!
Hello Art Director here , thank you so much for playing our game and for the authentic feedback ! , For the items to be more evident i completely agree , so many people had trouble and were confusing the mushroom with a bone or not seeing it at all etc , For the UI , our artist came in the last few days so I didnt have the time to really give feedback and adjust the look of it , For the rats hehe they are designed to give nothing just to make it even more harsh and dark ( which is my vision ), we did think of a cooldown early on for the escape but we forgot + ran out of time. I'll definetly be trying yours , thanks for the feedback !
It's a pleasure! I think you made an amazing job for the art direction of characters and evironments.
Sorry for not having gone too deep into the experience but the time is limited and I want to give feedbacks to as many games as possible.
Anyway your game is in my collection so I will probably play it again!
That was great. I love this type of game. Smooth jank-free mechanics. Looks great.
Huge team! How did you not kill each other after day 3? :)
Привіт Друже!
Honestly, we were trying to kill each other that hard that in day 3 our programmer's laptop blow up (actually real event)
But If you would have a chance, definitely give a try to work with team, that is so much fun!>
Thanks for review <3
First off, it took me a while to get into the game as the game was set to full screen but somehow I got a mix of full screen and windowed game with part of the screen just black and my mouse inputs not getting registered (not sure why that happened). After changing to windowed mode, the game worked well! I liked the game environment and mechanics. The consecutive misses were a little frustrating. A nice game overall! Good job!
Thanks for playing Kisame ! , we made the main menu in the last moments before submission believe it or not , sorry for any frustrating bugs, we will include a ghost enemy in your honor in Heads or Tails: Biscuit & Milk Edition 2 haha
This game really nails the atmosphere! it feels dark, stylish, and immersive in a way that immediately pulls you in. The biggest drawback is at the beggining, where I also thought that I couldn't deal damage because of a bug, and I reinstalled the game twice until I read the comments haha! Once I got that figured out It was so cool to play, the art direction and visuals are fantastic, and it really gives those old-school dungeon vibes. I loved how the coin flip worked but sometimes it was so tough on me, but that's it's charm. Good overall!
Thank you so much for playing our game , it is pretty rough and it was a big mistake to not fix the dagger issue but we ran out of time haha , thanks for review , your game is pretty awesome too ( Flirting with Derrerk was quite the charm hehe )
Dark and darker vibes - cool!
This means the worlds to me , thank you for the kind words <333
Very unique game! I love the style. Very impressive for a week! Some minor improvements I'd suggest would be to add some more combat options maybe, and it'd be great if there was some kind of cursor so it's easier to see what you're aiming at.
Thank you for playing the game and the feedback ! , our games are pretty similar since turn based in this jam is pretty rare , i loved it alot <33
Thank you so much!!
Amazing! I love the atmosphere and the look of the game. At first, I couldn’t deal damage to the mice and didn’t know why, I thought boooh maybe it’s a bug (since I saw the dagger in my hand). Then I checked the inventory haha and yeah… I’m just stupid, it wasn’t equipped.
Hahaha, no worries, It was definitely our design mistake!
But this is important to mention to make Better Games together!>
Thank you for your feedback <3
Well, making mistakes is totally normal (we also made a ton of mistakes because we were rushing to submit), plus 7 days is very short, and your project seems like a game that requires a looooot of time, so congrats on pulling it off!
Loved the vibes from this game! I encountered a lot of tech issues with the game and menus, and my dagger did 0 damage until I swapped it with another weapon, but other than that, this was a nice lil RPG!
Add me to the list of the dagger. Honestly got frustrated because I couldn't beat a dumb rat but it turns out I couldn't really anyway as I went further. Really like the atmosphere and the art with ta nice touch of retro made it more unique than many games that go full retro. The main music loop in my head. Fun to play a FPS in this genre. Unique game. I am going to play some more when I have time before I rate. A game I want to go back to so added to Brackey's collection.
Thank you so much for playing our game and thank you for the kinds words too , I have put a Disclaimer in our main page about this bug cause it is causing so much confusion.
really love the vibe and visuals of the game + the gameplay is super nice! wishing good luck and lots of creative inspo to everyone who worked on this project — amazing job!
luv it sm <3
Thank you for review <333
We really appreciate such Warm words!
I believe you will check our future projects as well <3
The visual is stunning. There is a little odd in first level since you dont know if you have to equip the dagger from item to able to damage the rat. Maybe you guys make first weapon automatically equipped
Tysm for the kind words , it was a blunder that we did not notice since we played it so much haha , anyway thank you so much for review !
