I love this game so much! It's fun, vibey, and reminds me of the games cartoon network had on their website in the early 00s
Really cool pixel art and vibe! Took me a while to figure out how to actually pick up the tools, a small playable tutorial would be a great finishing touch. Very well executed game!
Cool puzzle game with a cool pull mechanic, cute art, and great music. I loved the vibe even though the controls were kinda clunky, some levels could softlock, and idk maybe it's just me but the camera movement felt a little off
The camera is a little bit jerky, I agree. Regarding softlocks,I almost couldn't figure out how to implement a level restart! Can you imagine if you had to start over from the first level every time you got stuck?? Absolutely catastrophic.
I love puzzles but I love them more when there a strong atmosphere. This game is great! It is not hard but it hits that sweet spot of difficulty balance.
I am impressed.
The game mechanics of pulling (instead of pushing) are brilliant for this.
Thank you for the kind words! I really liked your entry too, pretty proffesh' voiceover and cool idea for a shooter! Good luck in the jam!!
Interesting mechanics, loved the art and music, the controls felt clunky but I got used to them faster than I expected
Very clever! Reminds of of those box pushing sokobon games I used to play as a kid. I like the idea of having to pull these tools to solve puzzles, and i like that you need to be facing the right direction of the tool to move it. i think you could make a really fun little game with a lot of different puzzles with this concept, well done!
A cool mechanic you could add is maybe some sort of alchemy or crafting, dragging different tools or objects into each other could create new items with different functions
We had an idea for something like that while we were brainstorming! We didn't have much faith that we could deliver on a system like that before our deadline, but it could be worth exploring!
A little janky, my experience is I can't pick up the tools/bodies, would be helpful if when pressing a movement key the character faced in that direction and then I could pick up the object. Or is that part of the gameplay, that you need a square to walk into so you can pick up the tool from the right direction? Otherwise, nicely done. COFFIN DANCE MUSIC.
You're not wrong, the movement can be a little cumbersome, but that's what we ended up designing the puzzles around! I had a good time playing the troll and putting tools in innocuous locations where you think you'd be able to pick them up no problem, ha ha ^^;
The art and music has a really charming vibe :)
cool! actually have gameplay, difficult and satisfying
I like the music quite a bit though the puzzle game itself has a lot of places you can softlock yourself so no undo button hurts. This is exasperated by the levels getting longer the more you play. I'd also say that adding more bodies didn't add to enjoyment of a level, it just made it more of a slog. Specifically in the last level the 4 place body didn't really have any places it would be puzzling that the 3 space one didn't have. Thanks for making da gaem though I did enjoy my time with it.
Thanks for your feedback! Valid criticism, an undo button would improve the experience; we were already aware that the 2x2 body was a step back in difficulty from the L-shape when we were putting the puzzle together, but felt that we had to escalate the last level somehow. Overall, just happy we got to submit something in time, we learned a lot!
Omg this is so fun! I would actually come back to play again when I have more braincells XD The art style is super cute and the music fits with the vibe and the writing c:
Thank you! Dar and Yoyo really outdid themselves with the sprites and the theme, I don't think the game would have turned out half as good without them!
Nice puzzle game, loved the art too!
