What was your favorite Kenney asset pack?

During the jam, I challenged myself to use only the Single Pack and No Text difficulties. I also didn't use any AI , everything was made by hand. I went with the black-themed Platformer pack that many of us know well. And guess what? I found 3 other games that used the exact same pack! Seeing how differently everyone used the same assets made me genuinely happy. It shows how creative we all are.

Did you come across other games using the same assets as yours?

My usual 2D go to is the monster 1000+ 1-bit pack.  I've used that for quite a few game jams.  But, I wanted to make a 3D game this time around, so opted for the two space packs.

Oh nice! The 1-bit Monster Pack is such a classic . I totally get why it's a go-to!  And switching to 3D with the space packs sounds like a cool challenge — I’m curious to see what you came up with! It’s always fun to try something different with each jam.  Did you find the transition from 2D to 3D tricky?

You can check out my 3D FPS and see how it went.

It's a tricky transition.  Gridmaps have really annoying issues, for example, compared to tilemaplayers (the 2D equivalent), which are amazing by comparison.

Thanks for sharing! I’ll definitely check out your 3D FPS ,  sounds like a cool project. Yeah, I totally get what you mean. Gridmaps can be so tricky to work with… tilemaplayers feel much more intuitive in comparison. It’s always helpful to hear how others are handling the same challenges , good luck with your project, and thanks again for the insight!

The 1-bit pack by far is my favorite, SOOOOO much you could do this this pack. I think next jam I might try some 3D assets, or maybe just use the 1-bit again :P

Totally agree , that 1-bit pack is a goldmine!  It’s amazing how much variety you can squeeze out of it. Whether you go 3D next time or stick with your favorite again, I’m sure you’ll come up with something awesome! Looking forward to seeing what you make!

I used the rolling ball asset i thought of making a golf game where you have to use a certain amount of power to get to the hole. But it went in a complete different direction i made a arcade style king of the hill game using the balls. https://itch.io/jam/kenney-jam-2025/rate/3733183

I really love the idea behind your game ,  such a clever twist on the original golf concept! Turning it into an arcade-style king-of-the-hill challenge with rolling balls is super creative. I’ll definitely check out your puzzle game as well, it sounds really interesting!
And if you're into puzzle platformers that might be a little frustrating (in a good way haha), feel free to check out my project too! On The Edge Of Power
