[Big Bang] Sign Ups Open!

WE'RE HERE it's the most fun time of year when the big bang sign ups

INFO:

• Create 10k of writing OR 2 pieces of art OR a hybrid option (5k of writing + 1 piece of art)
• Written works must be one fic
• Mature content allowed, please tag and warn correctly.
• Femslash ships to be the main pairing (others can be included as side/background). i.e. f/f, f/f/f, etc. only.
• Any fandom! Original works too! - see FAQ link for guidelines on ships
• OCs, RPF + Crossovers all allowed :)
• No AI content allowed thanks!

After signing up:

• follow our blog for updates
• Updates posted in the #ffbb2026 tag
• Don’t forget to participate in the check-ins - these will be emailed to you / link posted in discord
• read this how-to on posting fic for the final challenge

Schedule/Important Dates (full list version):

• Sign-ups close on the 28th of February
• Final Due Date for the Big Bang Challenge is September 20th, 2026
• Posting begins October 3rd 2026, multi-chapter fics posted fully by December 20th in whatever order you wish.
• Monthly challenges (separate to the big bang) run from February to November (start on the 1st of the month, and end on the last day of the month).
• Rollover challenges also happening intermittently throughout the year.

Hey hey, as a librarian, can I just say don’t pace yourself at the library. I get a lot of customers saying “oh I shouldn’t get too many books out at once” but like you should!!!! Max out your card, take everything we have on a subject you’re interested in, make a book fort in your home. We love that shit! It doesn’t matter if you read them or not; just take them for an adventure and bring them back whenever they’re due!

For public libraries, one of the ways we secure funding year to year is lending. Governments don’t want to fund more books if they’re not being used and the way we measure use is by issues. Regardless of whether you read it or not, whether you have it for a day or a month, if you issue it to your library card, we get the stats! It makes the library look good!

Help your local library; get books out even if you know you can’t read them all!

Use that library card like you are on a shopping spree with unlimited funds baby
