I’m thinking of estranged Batkids being jealous of Bruce’s romantic Partner. Especially if it’s someone they never thought he would date. Someone like Hal.

The first ones to estrange were Jason and Dick. They had one of their big blow up arguments with Bruce. Probably caused by something so small they can’t even remember it anymore. And after they ignored Bruce’s calls for weeks and were finally ready to talk, those calls stopped coming.

Then it came with Steph and Duke. They were so mad at Bruce. He wasn’t their parent and he shouldn’t always act like he is. So they distance themselves from him.

Tim’s estrangement wasn’t really on purpose. Tim just got his own department. Well not his own completely, but he is living with his boyfriend. And every time he mentioned going to the manor or hanging out with Bruce, Bernard intervened. Bernard’s boyfriend is not gonna hang out with the man who always gets him hurt. And after trying again and again Bruce just gave up.

Damian’s estrangement was probably the most hurtful. Not because he loved his biological son more, but because Damian was the only one left at that point. But just a simple fight on patrol that escalated into “YOU ARE NOT MY FATHER! YOU ARE ONLY THE DONOR OF MY MOTHER! MY FATHER IS THE ONE WHO MADE ME ROBIN! BECAUSE HE TRUSTS ME WITH MY OWN DECISIONS!” and while Damian felt bad about it in the morning afterwards he was far to proud to apologize yet. And a few days later Father told him that there was a new custody arrangement and he can stay with Dick from now on.

The only kid not estranged from Bruce was Cass, but she was so often in Hong Kong, Bruce only saw her every few months.

And Alfred had already been dead for a while.

Of course Bruce is in a deep black hole. But he got a light to guide him out of it in the form of Hal.

Hal who has seen all the ways Bruce can be an ass (as Hal puts it “a very good looking ass but and ass nonetheless) and still chooses him. Who has seen all the ugly sides of Bruce and likes them.

So after a year and a half of dating they decided to make it public.

Which is when the trouble beginns.

All the Batkids (-Cass) are meeting in Blüdhaven for Dinner at Dicks place.

The TV is running and the food not finished yet. The flat is full too. Jason is cooking while Dick is setting the table. But Dick is missing two cups.

“Damian, get me 2 cups please?” he calls out to the 13-year-old

“I’m watching the news, right now” is the answer he gets back

“Damian! Come here now, it’s just 2 cups and then you can sit down again.”

“Ugh. Fine”

As Damian gets the cups the news start with a brand new story.

“Billionaire Bruce Wayne has just announced his retirement from Bachelorhood as he introduced us to his partner of 1,5 years”

What? Everyone’s eyes are on the TV now.

It shows Bruce standing in front of a mountain of paparazzi. And next to him was… Hal Jordan??

And Hal had an arm wrapped around Bruce’s waist. He didn’t look the least bit nervous. No Hal Jordan looked like that cat that got the cream.

And when Hal looked at Bruce there were almost stars in his eyes.

Hal looked at Bruce as though he was the best thing in the galaxy or even further.

Dinner it was quiet. Nobody wanted to talk about it.

Bruce and Hal being seen in the Gotham Zoo feeding the elephants. Especially one named Zitka,jr seems to like them. (Has Damian and Dick definitely not fuming, that definitely wasn’t their thing with Bruce)

Bruce and Hal playing Basketball in a local park with some of the kids there. Laughing at each other. Bruce complimenting Hal for his skills and the man lighting up even more. (Duke and Steph are NOT jealous, that’s just their usual spot. The one they always went to with Bruce. And now Bruce is going there with Hal and not with them. It’s no big deal.)

Bruce and Hal being seen going home from an antique book store near Park Row and interviewed right then and there. “We each bought a book we thought the other would like and now we’re each gonna read the book the other bought for us and then discuss them.” answers Hal the reporters. (Jason isn’t crying out of anger! He’s just cut a lot of onions in his room before and they still make him tear up sometimes. He is not sad and angry about Bruce doing something with Hal he has always done with Jason before he died.)

Hal being seen at a jeweler buying Bruce a watch saying to the paparazzi questioning him “It’s just a watch, not a ring. He has the same one already but it’s broken and he never wears it. He just gets sad looking at it and I decided to buy him a new one to replace the broken one with” (Tim is not crying either. His Dad is just gonna replace the Father’s Day gift Tim had given him. Replace the broken with something better. Tim is NOT jealous at all)

And so, Cass returns from Hong Kong, and she couldn't understand why everyone is so sad.

She's been spending time with Bruce and Hal. She thinks Hal is a good choice for Bruce, even if it's a rather unexpected one.

She was even invited to dinner by Dick, and she doesn't understand why they've been doing nothing but bashing both Bruce and Hal the whole time.

"I'm just saying," Stephanie continued, "How long can it last? A few months? I mean, give Jordan time and he'll be gone too..."

"Why?" Cass's voice surprised everyone. They looked at her blankly.

Stephanie sneered, "Come on, you know the old man, he's a manwhore, obviously..."

"No, why you want dad to be unhappy," Cassandra said again, and she noticed the pain at the word, as if it were taboo.

She really didn't understand. Damian also seemed to hate calling Bruce dad, and it made no sense.

"Of course we don't want him to be unhappy, just..."

"Just that you're acting like children," Cassandra continued, eyes narrowed, observing. Barbara had always said to watch how others acted, more than what they said. You can't always rely on words, especially not in their family.

"You're jealous."

"Who, us? Don't bullshit..."

"You're jealous because dad is happy with someone other than you," Cassandra continued, mercilessly. Jason blanched, as the girl continued, "You all distanced yourself from him, didn't return his calls, got angry because he treated you like his children..."

"I didn't distance myself!" Tim snapped, but Cassandra tilted her head slightly, "But you let Bernard make the decision for you. And you're still together. Just...why? Do you love him more than dad? If anyone had done that to me, the relationship would have ended. Why you stayed?"

Tim remained very calm at that point. Damian clenched his fists, "He left me with Richard. Clearly, he doesn't want me anymore."

"No, dad arranged new custody papers after you called him a sperm donor to his face and said Dick was your father. Why are you surprised he sent you to him after all? It was clear who you loved more. Or is your pride more important than hurting dad?"

At that point, the anger left Damian, replaced by shame, because that was exactly what had happened. He had chosen pride, and it had never occurred to him to stoop to apologizing.

Cassandra then turned to Stephanie and Duke, "You hated him because he tried to be a parent for you. But now you miss him. Why? For the attention? Or because maybe you could have another parent? That's the thing I understand least. He took you in, and yet... you treated him like he was the one who gassed your parents, Duke, or gave your mom drugs. Why?"

And they wished they had a decent answer, they really wished they had. Unfortunately, they didn't.

Then she looked at Dick and Jason again, "You guys had such a stupid argument you don't even remember why you didn't talk to him anymore. Dad tried to call you, you ignored him. He stopped, and you ignored him again. You wanted him to continue, but... what was the point? Why keep looking for people who don't want you?"

"We were ready," Jason hissed, but Cassandra replied, "Then why didn't you call? Why does Dad always have to be the first to apologize?" Cassandra then got up from the table and stared at them, her black eyes, eyes so similar to Bruce's that it hurt to look back at him, "The solution was within reach, but none of you want to acknowledge it. It would have been enough to apologize and treat him with a minimum of grace. He's not perfect, but he loves us. And if he makes a mistake, he apologizes. Why was that never enough for you?"

"You're always in Hong Kong, you don't know how..."

"I'll stay," this surprised everyone. "For the next year, I've decided to stay in Gotham. At the Manor. I have nothing to deal to in Hong Kong, and I want to take a long vacantion."

"You're staying in Gotham? At the Manor?! Why?" And Stephanie's surprise was louder than a hundred fireworks.

Cassandra, with all the simplicity in the world, replied, "I missed my dad, and I wanted to spend time with him. I think I'll get to know Jordan better, too. He's a good person."

"You can't do that..."

"Why not, Tim? Bruce is my dad too, you know. And nothing stops me from seeing him."

Then, more sternly, she added, "If that's not the case for you, I'm sorry. I'm sorry you can't choose him yet."

A silly canonical Batman fact I love with all of my heart is the time young Bruce had a crush on a girl in high school, wrote her a love song in the form of a Bee Gees song, and it got mistaken for an assignment and read out in front of the entire class, earning him the nickname 'Bee Gee'.

This also establishes him as a canonical Bee Gees fan!

older clark x younger bruce is funny to me sometimes cause bruce would be the one to find himself a silver fox who has super strength and insane stamina and have him stay like that until he himself is a silver fox. his greed sickens me.

Bruce sleeps naked. Even when on extraterrestrial missions, if the situation affords it, he sleeps naked. Which leads to a lot of realizations for his teammates who happen to walk into his sleeping quarters by mistake or try to wake him up early. Realizations like "oh wow, this ass is real, and not just padding," or "I didn't realize I was into male chest, but apparently I am," or "he really is waxed everywhere."

But some realizations are less fun. "I didn't know he had a back injury this extensive..." or "Is that the scar from when I was mindcontrolled? I didn't realize I hit that hard..." or "This burn must have been excruciating."

Either way, all the different realizations lead to his teammates insisting to stick closer to him, for no reason, no reason at all

Imagine if post identity reveal, Bruce gets comfortable enough to take the cowl off whenever he's in company of those he's close to. Mainly the founders and a few others.

He's just there, updating the logs, or working on something with someone else. Imagine him completely focused, surrounded by the noise of those he considers friends and family. And he just- Just takes it off.

And he keeps working until he FINALLY notices the silence in the room. He turns around, and suddenly everybody is moving fast in every direction, busying themselves and making noise.

It. Happens. Everytime.

The JL just goes dumb as soon as his face is exposed. They just have to stop and stare.

The first time it happened, Bruce didn't notice. The second, he saw the pattern. By the third time, he did it to test his theory. Now he does it on purpose to mess with them. Or to quiet them, to make them work.

Whenever his coworkers are avoiding their paperwork, or he just wants to un occupy a room. He takes off the cowl. They will froze in place, and later scatter like rats after making eye contact with the Gothamite, focusing on their own work to avoid the greyish stare from the gorgeous man.

I want Bruce to be on like a month long space mission, and I want it to be revealed when he gets back that his hair grows freakishly quickly.

His hair is just above his shoulders, but he got so frustrated with the part going into his eyes that he roughly cut it with his baterangs making it look like he’s got choppy curtain bangs.

He looks hot as fuck.

The kids had begged him not to get rid of it, thinking he looked funny as shit with it, and he didn’t really see a reason to cut it short either. He liked the longer hair when he was younger, but simply got used to short hair when he was training and kept it as such when he officially came back.

He officially got it professionally cut, but still kept it to a length just above his shoulders. He simply pulled it back into the mask when he was in the suit. It was refreshing and a nice fidget to fiddle with when he was stressed or tired.

What it unfortunately also has an effect on was the Justice league’s ability to focus.

Which had deteriorated exponentially.

Their first meeting after Bruce had gotten back, he had at first kept the full mask on since he was just back from patrol. But in the middle of Barry’s briefing about his last encounter with his own villains, he decided to take it off, making all of them entirely gape in wonder.

Bruce was already a beautiful man on his own, but the way his slightly swear damp hair curled lightly at the ends, framing his features perfectly, made him look ethereal.

It also was the biggest hit in all gossip magazines and social medias for a full month, the hashtag #BruceWayneLongHair was top trending within the day it was revealed.

Everyone was loving this new looks, maybe a little too much.

The BatKids were maybe regretting a little that they had convinced Bruce to let anyone other than them see it.

Turns out, when you don't voice your criticisms correctly, your child ward starts hating himself, until he self-destructs to protect his loved ones from himself.

Fear not, Alfred will NOT tell Bruce what he actually meant or apologizes for how his words made Bruce feel about himself. Yes, from how Bruce writes about himself, Alfred was able to deduce that his own behavior is the source, but don't ask him more.
