A fun thing about fiction with large casts of characters is that sometimes you'll have a Spicy Bananas moment where every single character has an identical yet wildly atypical experience of some very mundane thing, and slowly you realise that the author isn't Making A Point, they just think that's normal.
TMA/TMP being set in England as a brit is amazing because like. the planned location for some “universal transmutation” is where I’m going to a concert in a week. the anatomy students went to my university. gerry is treated for burns at my university’s hospital. tmp-universe institute is where my family on one side comes from. my life is a reference now
