I’m at over 15,000 encounters in Chargestone Cave with no shiny, so I made a C Gear skin about it
Since people are asking about how I did this I’m going to add onto this post
This is a vanilla copy of White 2 on a non-hacked 3DS. I used an external program running on my computer that emulates the functionality of the Dream World called Entralinked (https://github.com/kuroppoi/entralinked) and since the official C Gear skins were distributed via the Dream World back in the day and since the games were designed in a way that allowed Game Freak to create new c gear skins and distribute them after the fact it allows you to import new images as a c gear skin
There are some limitations on the image itself though. It has to be 256x192 pixels and can only contain a max of 16 unique colors. Also the image cannot be too complex. The game requires the image to be made up of a max of 255 unique 8x8 tiles, so things like repeated patterns and open black space are able to be reused and save space in game. And be sure to save the image as a png
I use GIMP since it’s good for graphics and it has some specific features that are useful for this specifically. First off you can check the amount of unique colors you have by doing Colors > Info > Colorcube analysis (though I think it checks on the layer that you’re on, so make sure you do this on the final image). To try and minimize the number of unique tiles you can overlay an 8x8 grid over your canvas and try to align things to fit within that grid as best you can. If you misalign a smaller pattern it can go from being a single tile to being 4 tiles depending on where the grid falls
To get the image into your game follow the instructions on the setup guide on the entralinked github page (https://github.com/kuroppoi/entralinked/wiki/Setup). It can be a bit tricky to connect, but I had better luck on my 3DS than my DS lite since the 3DS actually is able to connect to modern wifi networks. Once you’ve put a Pokemon to sleep in the emulated Dream World you can go to your user profile in the program and navigate to the C Gear section and you can import you image from there. The program will tell you if you have violated any of the constraints I mentioned before. Also the Entralinked program is nice because it is kinda the only way these days to get the Dream World specific medals in B2W2 which is what I was originally doing when I discovered that you could use it to import c gear skins

Have you guys noticed how much the internet/technology just does not listen to you anymore? I click “don’t show this artist” on Spotify and I get recommended a music video by them on the front page. I click “delete my account” and the next time I open the website they suggest I “reactivate”.

I can’t speak for other social media webbed sites but I really enjoy how tumblr seems to just completely spin a wheel on whatever media is hot right now. Like yeah sometimes it’s a new show that’s big and actively coming out but also sometimes there will be a solid month where half my dash is Columbo memes. Defy authority. It’s not a cure but you have no idea how many times this image has helped me with my OCD
Sometimes I imagine my mind-self cutting the intrusive thoughts with a katana, it helps a bit when I want to concentrate on something.
