Pickpocketing v1.2
[Seeing the success of my previous pickpocketing table, I noticed a few things I could have improved and changed to make it even better than it was before.]
Stardew Valley: Townsfolk Favorites
I decided to make these little graphics for people who may be playing on the switch and can’t get the guidebook or who may not have WiFi to look it up. Now you can just save these and pull them up whenever :3

This is really quite a big deal. A tremendous amount of modern research ends up being sold to journals which require unreasonable payments to access it and only pay the original authors a pittance. It’s nice to see an agency like NASA deliberately widebanding its findings.
Not sure if people fully realize just how big of a deal this is. THIS is how science is advanced. Not through biased corporate research, business secrets, marketing, paywalls and patent wars. But through open, uncensored and unrestricted public access to knowledge.

^ There’s the direct link to all the studies.
NASA IS GOOD, NASA IS GREAT

NASA is the hero we don’t deserve.
This deserves every reblog.

In the face of institutions being silenced, this is doubly huge.
I love seeing that, for once, there are more reblogs than likes
Keep passing on this info, guys. Good job

Thank you @vabla for saying exactly what was on my mind, this is so important!
Drawing Heads and Faces: Cheekbones
I’ve found that drawing the head starts to make a lot more sense once you start thinking about cheekbones and cheeks, and how the fit into the head structure.
You might be aware of the Mysterious Indent that Looks Good Next to the Outer Part of the Eye, or the Mystery Indent for short.
Drawing a Mystery Indent may serve you fine if you only draw the head from flat angles, but it falls apart when you get adventurous.
Why isn’t this making sense anymore?
Drawing a ‘Mystery Indent’ is an attempt to imply cheekbones without knowing how they actually incorporate into the skull, and this is why it looks so unconvincing when you use it to draw the head in anything other than ¾ view.
The cheekbones wrap around the head and eye sockets from above the bridge of the nose. The concave you draw if you draw the ‘Mystery Indent’ is a misunderstanding. There is no concave. You should instead be thinking of this as where the eye socket/brow overlaps the (convex!) cheekbone.
Compare the cheekbones on both sides for placement. They should match up and correspond with each other.
(Knowing cheekbone structure helps when drawing gaunt characters, because their cheekbones may stick out. Remember to compare the cheekbone placement on both sides!)
* This is part of a much larger tutorial I’m working on about head, face, and facial feature structure. Hopefully more to come eventually?

Am… am I back in the 90’s?

Bead animals were my JAM in the 90’s!! And you don’t have to limit your creativity to lizards, either! With a few adjustments, you can make anything!
AND with a little practice, you can even make them 3D shaped (especially with the smaller beads and wire, though you can make them with the bigger beads and string, to an extent)

Coming soon to a shadowy alleyway near you, it’s Maisie’s Slightly-Cursed Item Shop.
If you’ve been following my personal posts over the last couple days you’ll know I’ve been working on revamping the magic shop that shows up in the D&D campaign I run. It’s a pseudo pop-up shop that is (literally) run out of the coat pockets of a skeevy but earnest merchant named Maisie. The purpose of the store is to make magic items readily purchasable, but force the players to have to think of clever ways to get the items to work in their favour. No pain, no gain.
While some of the language is pretty specific to my campaign setting, I wrote these pages with the intention of having Maisie and her store be usable in other people’s games, so feel free to tweak her how you want if you decide to use her!
