Four Horses, details from a 17th century Persian manuscript.
The best thing about new zealand english is we get to pick and choose what we like from american english and british english.
The bad thing is that sometimes we choose wrong.
Like. Americans have fries and chips vs brits have chips and crisps. Both valid.
Here? We have chips and chips.
Youd think it'd be fine and that you can figure out which one a person is talking about from context but trust me a good percentage of the time you cannot. And often the person will try to differentiate them by clarifying they meant "Potato chips" only for them to realise a second later that both chips are made from potatoes
I shouldn't make fun but that last part is DEEPLY hilarious to me
A while back I was in need of some new binders and thought hey, I bet I can make one way cheaper than buying it from somewhere (especially cus some of the ones I’ve bought in the past didn’t really fit right). Except when I started looking for a binder patterns online, I was very surprised that I really… couldn’t find many that looked very nice lol. Most of them had really wrinkled necklines, or didn't bind well, or just overall looked weird. A lot of the patterns also required a serger, which I don't have.
So I just said fuck it and made my own pattern! And it ended up being relatively easy! And the binders fit REALLY WELL and are comfortable to wear, even for long periods. The neckline doesn't show under shirts with loose collars, and the bottom hem doesn't gap or stick out. Here's me wearing one:
(plus I was able to make myself 5 of them for a total of like ~$50.)
So I figured I could throw together a guide to help out anyone else who wanted to make their own binder but was dissatisfied with the patterns available!
Disclaimer: This tutorial is going to assume a baseline level of sewing experience, and also will require access to a sewing machine. It is not a complicated pattern, but it will most likely require some tweaking and adjustments after you make the first one. Don’t be afraid to make alterations to make it fit better!
This tutorial is for a gc2b-style half-tank binder. It could be altered to be a full-tank binder, but all instructions will be for the half-tank design.

Repeating my reblog in the comments, not trans but for others, is there alternative fabric suggestion links now that joann's is dead?
kiwisoap (Original Poster)
I answered an ask about this recently so I'll copy-paste it here! I don't have any direct links but I can provide more fabric details so you can find them :-) For the main body of the binder i recommend a fabric thats 80% nylon 20% spandex - it's usually called something like "4-way stretch nylon spandex" or "nylon spandex athletic fabric"; you can usually find it by looking up "80/20 nylon spandex". Usually it will run between $14-20/yard. For the stiff front panel, you can use basically any sturdy woven fabric. For mine I use shirting cotton, but you could also use basically any quilting cotton. GC2B binders use a lightweight cotton or cotton/poly twill for theirs, which is also an option if you want something a bit firmer and sturdier. (Twill is just a different style of weaving the fabric). For the interfacing, I use Pellon P44F Lightweight Fusible Interfacing, and for the fusible web I use Pellon 805 Wonder-Under Paper Backed Fusible Web All these fabrics are gonna be available from many online fabric retailers, tbh its mostly just a matter of seeking them out and shopping around to find what you can afford. If you want to buy in person and you're in the USA, Michaels or other hobby stores will likely at least have quilting cotton and interfacing.
hey it’s ok if you lost your ai virginity back when you were uneducated. a lot of posts go like “reblog if you have never ever used generative ai and never ever will!!!” but it’s ok if you have used gen ai before and it’s even ok if you used to think it was cool, back before you understood what it really was and how it worked, either because no one had taught you about it and you discovered it on your own or because the only education you had received about it was from the tech bros. you’re not a burger with a bite out of it for having used ai. ok
It is 100 percent okay to stop using it today and join the "boo AI" club.
This isn't a purity thing. This is a "everyone stand with us against destroying the environment and giving asthma to poor people" thing.
Did you know that when one community says no to an AI data center, they specifically search out communities with fewer resources? Communities that can't defend themselves? And the pollution 100 percent affects their health and wellbeing, in addition to burning through our already scarce drinking water.
You can stop using character.ai today. You can say "I listened to the facts and stopped." And another thing: don't you think it's a bit more impactful to have used it, stopped, and then you're in a position to say how little it helped? How doing things for yourself improved your life?

i’m very self aware. which unfortunately hasn’t solved anything
the thing about disability is it really does sometimes boil down to "wow i wish i could do that" and then you can't. and it sucks.
accomodations are important but i think they miss the point of this post. sometimes you can't do it. at all. someone needs to do it for you or it will never happen.
"and then you force yourself anyway" folks im starting to think some of you really do not understand what it means to not be able to do things.
Each Benoit Blanc film takes place in a different season and classic murder mystery setting.
Knives Out: Autumn in a country house
Glass Onion: Summer on a private island
Wake up Dead Man: Spring in a small town
So the next film in the cycle needs to be set in winter on a mode of transportation.

Penetration is a gender-neutral act. Topping is gender-neutral. Bottoming is gender-neutral. You are not more or less of a man or a woman depending on how you fuck. You are not “fake trans” for having sex a certain way. You are not any less masculine for bottoming or any less feminine for topping.
Additionally, acting like being penetrated is an act of submission is deeply rooted in misogynistic, cisheteronormative ideas of sexual intercourse, as in "penetration is something that is done to women for the sexual gratification of the man, nothing more, therefore it is inherently degrading and feminine".
A cishet man getting pegged by his cishet girlfriend is not gay, he's not less of a man or submissive by default. A cishet man getting pegged by his cishet girlfriend can be sexually dominant and simply likes to be fucked in his ass - these two can co-exist. Yet, in the eyes of cishet society, a man that likes to have his ass played with, must enjoy it because it's "degrading" , not because it simply feels good.
That's why I so heavily preach about the difference between sub/dom/switch and bottom/top/vers. Penetration can be used to increase the feeling and severity of a power dynamic, but it doesn't create one. These two things are entirely separate from eachother, unless connected willingly.
you should reblog this version instead, actually
A little brown bunny was so kind and sweet it stretched its whole body out and got long enough to go to sleep
can u pls leave the discussions to the scholars
Whole books have been written about this since the end of americas involvement in Vietnam. That's why there are so many action heroes whose wives or children are dead. If you have a family you have to be part of a community, but if you're freed of those responsibilities you can be an eternal child who can kill endlessly with no consequences. Once you recognize it, you see it in everything. Cool grizzled divorced antihero who plays by his own rules and lives outside the law doesn't have to put the seat down or remember anyone's birthday grrr rough 'n tough creampuffs

The reason they make you do group project at school is as a preventative measure against falling into conspiracy theories as an adult. The vast majority of the population can and will come out of the experience with a much better understanding of just how goddamn impossible it is to make multiple people do what they were supposed to do, everything they were supposed to do, and nothing but what they were supposed to do. You can't make five people do that, and yet billions of people are keeping this supposed machine rolling?
