i really like the cats cradle motif coming back in kana6! please forgive me for not being very articulate and if i make any mistakes (im not caught up on everything in the story ><)
i love the visuals in the 2dmv of the yarn representing their connections to eachother. the string is overlapping and tying together, holding them close. if string is pulled too much it may become tight and painful around your fingers. kanade has genuine connections with the others, but her dependency issues are obviously causing her pain. i also like the shot of kanamafu cradling the unraveling ball of yarn a bit like how kanades feelings within their relationship and her own saviour complex and finally beginning to unravel now that kanade is being more aware of it? cats cradle is played with a piece of string tied into a loop rather than just a regular bit of string, which kind of reminds me of how kanades issues just seem to perpetuate. even if she successfully saves mafuyu (i think she already kind of has simply by promising to be with her but thats a discussion im not knowledgeable enough to properly have) she would (supposedly) simply move onto the next person in need of saving. kanade has tied herself into a painful loop of living for anyone other than herself - devoting her existence to atoning for her self perceived sin (blaming herself for the incident with her father)

the thing i love most about every pjsk commissioned song is they always comeback and round off every characters arcs especially within a subunit and they continue to build off of their pains in a way that shows how each group is more deeply connected emotionally than what is thought like aaaaaaaa
Still insane about Kana6 so lets talk about how idsmile despite being made for Mizuki from the begining of the game has some lyrics that perfectly describes how Kanade is feeling now
"I can cut myself of with a smile, put a distance between us, and still be able to smile, I'll be able to smile but.." Kanade emotionally distancing herself again and her thinking about what happens when Mafuyu is eventually saved and how she'll continue to go back to the way it used to be but...
"The boundaries have began to blur, the future uncertain" Kanade got attached to them, fearing that once Mafuyu is saved, She'll "loose" her place and nightcord wont be able to stay together, that she'll go back to the way things used to
"If I had told you, then we wouldn't, we couldn't stay like this" her not telling Mafuyu and her not telling herself abt her own feelings, afraid that their dynamic will change if she admits her feelings
"If we had made this world that reflects our existence of feeling for each other resonate, hey, could we stay this way, just like this" Describing how Kanade's wish is for nightcord to stay together
"Im obstructed by faint expectations, and held back by those faces ambiguous indifference if we could stay together like this.." her and her indifference with Mafumom and that even if she wished for them to stay together, Mafuyu and nightcord will eventually leave her
"Would it hurt or would I want to stay"
Her not knowing what to feel about her situation
And her not being fully honest with nightcord
