favorite thing abt the raffles tv show is sometimes the costumes are pretty close to being accurate and other times you look down and they’re wearing straight up bell bottoms

via @queijada

#ok so bell bottom is maybe an exaggeration but some of those pants are slightly flared w a very 70s fit to them idk if that makes sense#love how there’s lots of brown not in the monochrome period drama way but in the it’s the 70s and everyone wears brown and orange way

OP, your tags are perfect - I had some similar thoughts. In some regards they really commit - all those true standup collars - all those immaculately boiled and starched shirts, instead of cheating with a shirt front or skipping one altogether -

- and then something catches from the corner of your eye.

maybe this is an ‘i dont know how to have fun’ situation but truly i dont get why we lend any credence at all to the idea of watson having a bunch of marriages it is blatantly nonsense and it only comes from baring-gould’s extremely forced and broken timeline.

watsons marriages in canon are really not that ambiguous, watch this:

1. Mary Morstan

2. MAZA, CREE, ILLU, and 3GAB; and BLAN. These are all set pretty specifically around Sep 1902 to 1903 when Watson is suddenly 'living in [his] own quarters in Queen Anne Street’ and mentions having a busy practice but says not one single word of a wife in any of his stories. (He was still at Baker St in 3GAR in June 1902.) BLAN of course has the infamous “The good Watson had at that time deserted me for a wife, the only selfish action which i can recall in our association.” This is much too late to be Mary unless Holmes has disguised the date of BLAN, and if he has, there’s no indication of a second wife in the other 4 stories in this group.

Thats it! Just Mary and one extremely tenuous maybe around 1902. we do not need to be making up 5 to 7 unnamed disposable women out of thin air its ridiculous.

When was the last time you cleaned your sewing machine? It’s a simple task, and something I do between projects. Have you noticed your thread tangling or tearing? Stitches being skipped? A funky noise that shouldn’t be there? Chances are your machine needs to be cleaned. Cleaning it will prevent it from breaking down and requiring repairs, and that can get very expensive.

Just a reminder to clean your machine. This is mine after finishing the quilting of a table runner and piecing the current one. If your machine is skipping stitches or the bobbin thread isn’t behaving. Check your machine. It may just need some cleaning.

Just a friendly reminder to clean your sewing machine.

And oil it, if it’s one that requires oiling!
