Anyone can go through the motions of being a Christian; going to church, praying, reading the word, etc.

What God is really looking for is a heart that is willing to be submitted to His will. His eyes roam across the globe, looking for a spirit of obedience.

We must be on the lookout to make sure that weren’t make the same fatal mistake that the Pharisees of Jesus’ day made. They came close to God in appearance, words, and occupation, but not in the one place where it really mattered, their hearts.

God isn’t looking for praise from the mouth, but from the heart.

Worship is very personal to God. He’s not some distant deity, indifferent to the going’s on of earth. Rather, He compares Israel and the church to a His beloved bride (Isaiah 62:4-5, Jeremiah 3:14, Ephesians 5:25-27, Revelation 21:2). God isn’t looking for a casual relationship, but an “I do”. He wants to be closer to us than a husband is to his wife.

Going with this comparison, imagine being married to someone who you know doesn’t really love you. They may claim it with their lips, but they completely disregard you with the way they live and how they treat you. Would you really want to stay in that relationship? Is that something you really look for in a marriage?

God isn’t looking for that either. Jesus is very clear that we must love Him with all of our hearts and minds, holding nothing back in our pursuit of Him (Matthew 10:37).

He will not settle for anything less.

God bless, Jesus loves you ✝️❤️

1 Peter 4:8

'Most important of all, continue to show deep love for each other, for love covers a multitude of sins.'

So what is this deep love? The word love here is defined as “agape” love- the love that Christ showed us and continues to show us. His love forgives, His love never gives up, and never runs dry.

"Agape” love, the love of Jesus is sacrificial, reaches out and goes that extra mile – it does not expect anything in return. John 13:35 tells us that the world will know we are Christians by our love. Christian love is a different kind of love.

Forgive quickly, love deeply and keep loving. May this be the year that relationships are redeemed, reconciled, and restored.
