Can we talk about how Percy treats his friends? Annabeth and Grover’s pictures are both on his mirror. He took the time to print them out and hang them up. He looks at them every morning. He and Grover have such a strong bond that it forms an empathy link. He would make the journey to the Bermuda Triangle alone if it meant bringing Grover home. He has been dying to hear about the most mundane parts of Annabeth’s life. He wants her on his team in every aspect. Yes, he looks at Annabeth like he loves her. He looks at Grover the same way. He just loves his friends so much. He would (and will) follow them to the ends of the earth just so they don’t have to go alone. He is the biggest defender of his friends, not necessarily because he’s the best at it, but because he has such a strong belief that the people he cares about deserve to be protected. I will forever love him for being such a good example of what friendship and love should look like.
