I love how RATC keeps going back in time to previous events just to get more out of the little time window we were given,,, It stretches the days out impossibly long and just when you think that it will progress to the next day you get SIKE ACTUALLY WE'RE GOING BACK IN TIME LIKE A WEEK FROM A DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVE SHJFSDF

Mixed with the fact that each chapter is a week or more apart it really DOES make the story feel like it's taking place over a very long period of time but to be honest 52 chapters for us is an ENTIRE YEAR and that makes it very engaging because oooh the suspense………….

NELL, AKLI, DUSTOS AND SAHRESH. I LIKE THOSE NAMES A LOT. Dustos sounds kind of Greek to me because of the "stos" sound which i think is a nice touch hshdsds. And augh,,, Them living in Zayl's old hideout is such a nice way to bring that area back into the story,,, Everything eventually circles back to the beginning. And oh man even though they were together for only a day i love the little dynamics you're crafting between them,,, I wonder how Sahpira would react to meeting them teehee

GRAHHHH CONLANG. Hresh for water!!! Were you maybe inspired by the sound of a waterfall while making it? It really doesn't match the same flow the words for water have in most languages but that makes it very interesting!! And regarding the sunrise/sunset ask from earlier, would sunset be stoskaerunfer? And staskaerunfer for sunrise? Because that's the antonym for "sta" you were talking about right???

ANOTHER AWESOME IDEA MAGZ HAD IS THE WORD FOR RAIN. Reshsaskae. H in the front removed so it flows better as a long word. Would that work? And could we mayhaps have a word for storm,,,

I tried to essentially truncate that entire week down to like a single chapter so that it felt something of a Tolkien-ish summary :)

It really adds to the scope of how long that week was for the protagonists, while for the rest of Hyrule it was just a week same as any other. And all the additional context helps explain how Hoz learned of a problem happening in the other stables.

That is one part about my fic being more or less a weekly serialization really go crazy. When you're reading the chapters as they're released I can imagine it gives the story that lengthy feel while in the actual world only like 4 weeks have passed since Rezek recovered from its Ashen-protecting crashout...........which irl has been like 2.5 years holy shit jhklasfjdh

What I think is interesting about anyone that decides to read it all from the start is that the stretched-out days will feel shorter since they don't have to wait a week in between those chapters LMAO

Funny enough Nell is an actual character in BoTW that does more or less what he does in the fic: sit around Akkala Citadel and loredump to Link about what happened there. Usually when writing Hylian NPCs I like to do a blend of original characters and those that were actually in the game. I think it helps that fanfic feel more expansive and fleshing out Hyrule to give these pretty simple characters more nuanced stories :3

I mostly derived it from like an onomatopoeia of flowing water! Again since Malician is (until now) exclusively a spoken language a lot of my word origins derive from either folly sounds or cognates from Hylian(English). Like the monsters come up with words from either the sounds of the world or the sounds of the people in it :)

And for sunrise and sunset more or less! A shortened version they'd probably use when wanting to be concise would be "staskae" and "stoskae" since the rise and fall of the sky can pretty much be synonymous with the rise and fall of the sun aheehee :3

I think something like "Reshinveck" would work as a word for storm! In this case something similar happens as the "s" in "sin" gets lopped off so that the word flows better and literally it's translation is "water and electricity" which, due to Malician being heavy seeped in context, would mean they wouldn't need to clarify that it comes from the sky and thus why "skae" is absent here while it's present elsewhere.

Since there's only really one time where water and lightning mix.

BUT THENNNNNN their word for "lightning" would be "skaeveck" since in this context you'd have to clarify that the lightning specifically came from the sky, thus needing the "skae" prefix.

God I LOVE SLEDGE GRAHHH BELOVED AMAZING MOBLIN INSPIRING AND HEROIC. <33333 And then Sahpira and I just . They're all so lovely……One of the things in this chapter that really struck me is how widespread and varied both defections and Hylian's attitudes are. Monsters are defecting all over the place all through different mechanisms. And people are choosing to help them even when they might have all kinds of reservations and hatred……I just….idk. People doing good. Compassion overriding grudges. Anyone can turn away from the malice, literal or metaphorical, not just those directly in contact with the main cast. I DONT KNOW WHAT IM TRYING TO SAY BUT I FEEL AND SEE IT AAAHHHH!! THE MALICE IS WEAKENING ITS HOLD ON THE HYRULEANS !!! EVEN IN WAYS THAT ARENT AS DRAMATIC AS THE MAIN CAST THINGS ARE CHANGING FOR THE BETTER !!!!

And also how fiercely brave and loyal everyone is,,,, a whole system of people ready to act just in case something went amiss. Hoz and Lettie and Mindy. Community and support. And then Zayl,,,,,,,zayl,,,, it cares so much,,,,,,,,,,,,,zayl I love you,,,,,,ough.

The other thing that really really struck me was the song. OH man the song. I really like it. The grieving of the lost past and the hope for the future. It's too late to stop the tide of revolution. Their song will carry on ……..ouhh. I believe Klee talks more about the song but trust it hit really hard

What really gets me about Sledge is how inspiring it is without necessarily meaning to be inspiring. The way it just.........does things it believes is right in its heart but since it has such a big heart its altruism can't help but ripple through others.

LIKE IT DIDN'T EVEN MEAN FOR THE PYRE ATOP AKKALA CITADEL TO BE A BIG DEAL IT JUST DID IT BECAUSE IT WANTED TO HELP HONOR THE DEAD,,,,augh,,,,it's just so selfless and never considers notoriety or fame or anything in doing it,,,,it just does good things because it's such a kind soul

AND YEA THAT WAS ABSOLUTELY MY FAVORITE ASPECT OF THIS CHAPTER,,,,,,,JUST HOW CONNECTED ALL THE EVENTS ARE AND SHOWING THE TANGIBLE CHANGES ACROSS HYRULE GRAAHHHHHH

It's such a good contrast and how much the defected monsters have impacted Hyrule since........well, in A Moblin's Rock Bottom with Frost........BUT SLOWLY HEARTS ARE CHANGING

THE MALICE IS WEAKENING EVERYWHEREEEEE YEAYEAYEA

I think it's just so important to show how the initial monster defectors laid the groundwork for the others. At first was impossibly difficult, needing complete isolation and silence from The Calamity. But as more defect, the power The Calamity holds gradually weakens. And as more monsters defect, the more of Hyrule knows about the defectors and their stories and even directly interact with them.

Had Traysi not gotten her story out, and had Nell not heard a whisper of monster defectors, he may have hesitated too long. I just love showing hoe important it is to fight against narratives such as the one in Hateno because it can turn ordinary people into heroes.

It's so cool how far everyone's come :')

I think "vice" and "veck" could work for "ice" and "electricity" because they're far sharper than their fire counterpart and makes it all roll off the tongue when discussing all 3. Like saying fire, ice, electricity takes up 5 syllables on electricity alone but "fer, vice, veck" is only 3 syllables. So you can see how much I think about context of word too lkjhsafdlkjhasd

-AND HMMMMMMMM ABOUT SUNRISE SUNSET.......Magz is close.....I think "sprouting sun" could also work well in this context.
