Earl of Lemongrab is mentally unstable anthropomorphic lemon character from Cartoon Network series Adventure Time. Although having a relatively few appearances, he has become one of the show's most popular characters, and has spawned several memes among the fandom.

Orgin

Lemongrab first appears in the episode Too Young, where he's revealed to be failed creation of Princess Bubblegum meant to be her regent in Candy Kingdom. Since Bubblegum has turned 13 years old due to previous episode's events, Lemongrab assumes her place, and starts sentencing citizens to imprisonment for petty and insensible reasons. By the end of the episode Bubblegum turns 18 again and fires Lemongrab. Since then he has appeared in several episodes both anta- and protagonistic roles.

Since his debut appearance, Lemongrab has become vey popular due to his erratic personality. Deviantart has over 4800 deviations tagged "Lemongrab".^[1] Reddit has a subforum dedicated to the character.^[2]

However, Lemongrab has also drawn some criticism from the percieved obnoxiousness of his voice and behavior. Tv Tropes' Adventure Time segment is noted to have had several edit wars over the character.^[3][4]
