About

Rachel Sennott's "Fatima" or Fatima In a White Way refers to a viral tweet about actress Rachel Sennott claiming she looks like someone named "Fatima" but in a "white way." The tweet was originally posted on X / Twitter in July 2023 but resurfaced in mid-November 2024 after Sennott acknowledged the meme during an interview for the Entertainment Tonight website, which sparked more jokes and memes about the nickname, as producer Jordan Firstman gave the reporter a different understanding of the joke, saying "Fatima" means "a woman of the people, like a Fatima works a 9-5."

Origin

On July 2nd, 2023, X[1] user @Miagothstan uploaded a picture of American actress Rachell Sennott, captioning it, "She kinda look like her name is Fatima but in a white way," which amassed more than 14 million views in a year (seen below).

Spread

The tweet calling Rachel Sennott a "Fatima" went viral on the internet over the following year as fans started to use the nickname ironically in memes and jokes about the actress on various social media platforms, primarily Twitter / X.

For example, on November 11th, 2024, X[2] user @lildicklegend replied to a tweet about Sennott, writing that they really thought her name was Fatima. The tweet (seen below) garnered over 77,000 likes and 2,000 reposts in a week.

On November 15th, 2024, during an interview for the Entertainment Tonight website, Rachel Sennott then claimed she did not understand the "Fatima" meme, but American producer Jordan Firstman, who was beside Sennott, tried to explain the nickname, wrongfully saying that "Fatima is a woman of the people, like a Fatima works a 9-5."

The video (seen below) was then posted on X[3] by user @sennottfiles that same day, writing, "Rachel Sennott knows about 'Fatima,'" which amassed over 14 million views and 39,000 likes in a day.

The wrong interpretation given by Firstman about the Fatima meme sparked an array of memes and jokes on X in the following days. For example, on November 16th, 2024, X[4] user @H0UNDS0FLUV posted a reaction video as a reply to @sennottfiles's tweet (seen below), which received roughly 1 million views and 57,000 likes in a day.
