There’ve been a couple times when he’s come home to find Nancy and Eddie hanging out. She doesn’t stay for dinner, and he thinks that could be on purpose. He thinks she might be keeping her distance from Steve for a reason.

It’s not fair, because it’s not like he even ever said anything, and it’s not exactly like he’s planning to say anything now, but there’s no way to explain all of that, so he doesn’t.

If Nancy gets together with Eddie, Steve’s going to fucking lose his shit.

It feels kind of like a bait-and-switch, that Eddie had opened the door to talking about Nancy-related stuff, had stuck his stupid nose in and said a bunch of shit about true love—and now he rolls his eyes half the time, or says something that doesn’t exactly sound shitty but sticks in Steve’s head for hours afterwards until it turns everything else shitty too. It’s not playing fair.

“I mean, I didn’t know I was signing up to be your personal love guru for the next eighteen months, dude.” Eddie’s hanging off the living room doorframe, which might or might not be sturdy enough to survive. “If you wanna talk about playing fair.”

Steve Harrington is not an alien from outer space.

Now that I have roughly 10k words written for this fic series, I figured I should probably start uploading it to AO3.
