I'm writing these words with a heavy heart and a sense of shame…

It's not easy for a doctor and pharmacist who has dedicated their life to serving people to reach out and ask for help, but circumstances are harsher than any pride.

My pharmacy was completely destroyed by the war,

and my home wasn't spared either… and I no longer have any source of income to support myself and my family.

I was forced to reopen a simple pharmacy, a tent,

offering no protection from the winter cold or the rain,

and with the recent storms, the tent itself was ruined,

and I continue to work in unbearable conditions,

but only because I don't know how to stop or give up.

The situation is extremely difficult… and the need is dire,

and the hardest thing is the feeling of abandonment,

when you feel alone,

and that many of the people you stood by didn't stand by you in this time.

I'm not asking for luxury,

nor anything more than what's necessary.

I'm asking for a life of dignity and a chance to get back on my feet.

Whoever can help, even a little,

may God reward them on behalf of me and my family.

And whoever can't, please share this post.

Forgive me… The pain is immense,

and the need is greater than silence.

🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

Every day, I think about how much living through today feels like living through Nazi Germany. I watch my community members get disappeared, I watch as Gaza is bombed and seized under "ceasefire", I watch a corrupt government violate human rights with more than impunity-- with smug glee.

And every single day, I think about how, as a child learning about Nazi Germany, my first question was "Why didn't people do anything about it?". It was a question no one ever answered to my satisfaction. I couldn't comprehend a world where atrocities happened and people didn't do something.

Now, as an adult, I refuse to be a bystander. When I am old and looking back on what happened, will my grandchildren ask me, "Why didn't you do anything about it?" When I see a fundraiser, I wonder, will I be able to look back and say I gave these people as much support, as much money as I could? When I see a protest flyer, will I be able to proudly say I fought on the front lines, or that I stayed safely at home as others did my duty? When I see I.C.E., will I someday say that I cowered from them, or that I stood in front of my neighbors to protect them?

What kind of person are you in the face of adversity? Will you ignore the bombed, the deported, the disappeared, the murdered? Are you alright just letting these grave injustices pass you by? What are you going to do about it?

Start right now. You can help Gazan families survive.

Mohamed and Enas have four little children. They were recently displaced again, and now the 6 of them are in a cold tent in the middle of winter. They are hardworking, honest, incredible parents who are hoping to get their family out of Gaza when the Rafah crossing opens.

Aehed is trying to raise enough money to correct a deformity in his youngest daughter's legs that cause her constant pain. It's a complicated, expensive surgery. This little girl doesn't deserve a life of pain amidst a war, and her family doesn't deserve to live destitute. You may not be able to stop the war, but you can help stop her pain.

You know that Mr. Rogers thing of 'look for the helpers'? How many times has someone, facing the end, done something tiny and fragile and maybe hopeless just to try and help someone else? Whether it works or not. How many people went to their graves at least trying? That has to say something about us. As a people. As monstrous as we sometimes (perhaps often) are, so many times we were also

Whoever saves one life, saves the whole world.

And sometimes you can't save one life, sometimes it doesn't work, sometimes there's no getting out of this for anyone, but... try anyway. Because it matters anyway. And maybe no one will ever know. But maybe also some day more than a century down the line, maybe some idiot will be crying into her coffee because of what you died trying

We live in a tent. The rain and cold are exhausting us, and Amir and Sarah are sick. We are trying to move from the tent into a simple rented home to protect our children. If you can help, the link is here.

If we cannot save her in time she may die

I will not forgive the silence of anyone who scrolls past this plea and ignores our pain.

This is not an exaggeration or an attempt to pressure—it is what the doctors have confirmed. My wife’s health is deteriorating due to a severe vitamin deficiency and malnutrition and her body can no longer endure any delay

The urgent surgery and treatment are her only chance to survive. Every day without support brings us closer to the worst.

I stand helpless beside her watching the woman I love grow weaker before my eyes with nothing left but hope in the kindness of others

Your donation or share now could be the difference between life and death.

Christmas this year and every year

When one is half human and half heart, one can tear open gift wrappings while missiles tear open human bodies. The cold is killing children, the airport is drowning people, and everyone sees our plight and doesn't care. Is it because of racism, or has this become normal? When the war in Ukraine broke out, everyone rushed to help. Why? Is it because they are white, or are their lives more precious than ours, and their children more deserving of life and play than ours? Tell me, how many civilians were killed in their war? How many children? And yet everyone stands with them and shows solidarity. We don't deny your efforts and your solidarity with us, but this is not enough. Every day there are ceasefire violations, innocent people are killed, and only a small amount of equipment and aid has entered. There are no tents to protect us from the rain and cold. When it rains, we only need half an hour to be flooded. Every day we struggle for survival, and you are oblivious to our suffering. Don't abandon us; we are dying every moment. We have tasted all kinds of death: from bombing, from hunger, and now we are dying from the cold. We are human beings like you. Why don't you care? Why don't you help us?

Every day we wake up to the same reality: destroyed homes, no safety, no stability, and needs that keep growing.
People think the pain paused… but for us, it never d
id.

Even with a so-called “ceasefire,” nothing has really stopped.
The explosions, the drones, the fear — the violations never ended.
And our suffering definitely d
idn’t.

Your support is the only reason many of us manage to keep going.

Your donation 🙏🙏 — no matter how small — can mean medicine, food, warmth, and a little bit of dignity in a life that’s been stripped of everything.

Please, stand with us. Don’t let this struggle fade from the world’s attention.

We still desperately need you to get back on our feet.

My name is Motasem from Gaza 🇵🇸🍉,

a father to a small child who asks nothing from this world except the most basic needs for his family—milk for my baby and safety.🥺

image

Today, I am unemployed, living a harsh reality after our homes were destroyed and we were stripped of the simplest necessities of life.

My child urgently needs baby milk and diapers, and I am unable to provide them amid extreme prices, siege, and destruction.

Gaza can no longer endure this suffering, and its children are paying the heaviest price.

Any support, no matter how small, can make a real difference in the life of an innocent child.

From a heart weighed down with pain, I reach out my hand to you… hoping that compassion can still find its way to us.
