ppl are so afraid of admitting that men set beauty standards they love acting like it’s just women creating these pressures for each other & like it’s misogynist to say it’s men who decide if it’s acceptable or not to look a certain way even though that’s like, pretty much exactly what happens. you’re allowed to say there’s beauty standards but you can’t say why there’s beauty standards or who they appeal to apparently
like so many people treat patriarchy and social standards like a hand dealt by a higher power that nobody has any say in confirming or rejecting and it’s so frustratingly unhelpful. if men aren’t the reason for patriarchy and women’s objectification then what is? did the fucking abrahamic God create patriarchy? it’s so stupid stop worrying about men’s feelings and if you can’t do that then stop engaging w feminism until you sort out your feelings
what does this mean to you. what does this statistic communicate to you. these are the countries that by and large have the strongest level of feminist ideals in their national consciousness. if men are not interested in maintaining patriarchy, then why are they becoming conservative in droves as soon as feminism starts becoming normal amongst women? don’t lie to my fucking face like that.
