Honestly since I’m engaging with fandom more and people are getting outta pocket some times (has happened more than once at this point) let’s make one of these:

Hi, I’m Axel/Ax/Lied/whatever you wanna call me. If you refer to me use they/them pronouns, unless gendering them are funny/for the bit or you’re my close friend and have unlocked (not-so)Secret Pronouns. I’m 30+ (I have no intention of updating this for every birthday I have), and sometimes my blog will be nsfw.

I write fics over here. I also have a blog tag for it.

I’ve recently been dabbling in meta, my current Major project is an (unfortunate) in depth breakdown of RHATO, with a focus on common complaints, but I’m easily distracted and also like to be thorough and sometimes that means playing catch-up/rereading comics I’ve maybe forgotten.

I’m going to emphasize that my metas are fundamentally opinion-based and biased by my personal human perspective and what I can recall. I am not making any flat objective statements, and if I seem to be then assume it’s a “to the best of my knowledge” statement, as I do not feel I should have to say that every single time. If I am incorrect, please provide the contradictory sources respectfully. I will only give limited chances and I block liberally.

I don’t do art as much as I used to, but if I do it’ll be tagged here.

I’m a multishipper, but with a current preference for JayRoy. Yes, I am currently fixated on Jason Todd in particular. No, I did not get into them because of RHATO. It was a crack ship that I started taking too seriously, now I even have a reading rec list for it, and there’s a carrd version by @spiritsglade over here. If that is a problem for you, please don’t engage.

Sidenote: Contrary to appearances (lol) my favorite characters are actually Black Canary and Arsenal. <3 Bats just have more content/engagement. Well, and while I do understand frustration with the Bat-dominance, when the fandom is smaller then the annoying/toxic voices are louder and it’s harder to find people who I actually would like to engage with. I can block five hundred annoying bat-fans and still find people in the rest to actually talk with.

I am too old to tolerate anyone ascribing moral hierarchy on fancontent. Leave me out of any arguments on that front.

I will occasionally post about especially US politics, because yeah. I exist in a world where those politics influences my general state of existence. I try to keep it to a moderate though, because I don’t want my blog to be about politics. Please respect that I’m not going to reblog every single political thing at all times. I have enough of that offline, and some of the political posts jump too quickly without enough backing.

Due to having gotten an overinflux of them in the past, I will not be posting or reblogging any donation posts or gofundmes for individuals who are not someone I personally know/have known for some time. I might occasionally reblog lists of them, but generally I prefer to stick to vetted organizations who can help the most people at once when I share. Please respect that. I have closed my askbox over this before, and I would prefer to not have to so again.

Batman Plus Arsenal

dccomicsbookshelf:

Batman debuted in Detective Comics #27, published May of 1939

Robin debuted just under a year later in April of 1940.

Batman is 86 years old and Robin has been there for 85 of those 86 years.

You cannot have a Batman without Robin that is Batman in any way that matters.

So turns out the US are setting babies up for a lifetime of illness and increased likelihood of liver cancer in Guinea Bissau in the name of “research”

7000 newborns will be denied the neoneatal HepB vaccine until 6 weeks to ‘prove’ that the HepB vaccine is linked to neurodevelopmental disability on the directions of the Department of Health vis RFK Jr and in collaboration with researchers in Denmark, despite the fact that the vaccine’s efficacy rate and best protection is when administered to newborns, and the total lack of correlation between vaccination and neurodevelopmental disabilities.

Guinea Bissau has some of the highest rates of HepB on the continent, and infants are the group at the highest risk of contracting HepB, leading to chronic hepatitis & long term hepatic diseases like cirrhosis and liver failure as well as increased chance of liver cancer.

The study can’t be carried out in the US or Denmark because it fails almost every benchmark for medical ethics — surprising absolutely nobody, it is in fact heinously unethical to expose babies to preventable disease that causes liver failure and liver cancer, but the “study” has been green lit in Guinea.

Fuck the US imperial project in Africa, fuck RFK Jr and the US Department of Health, and fuck every single collaborative researcher in Denmark. This is some nightmare Tuskegee Study shit and every single individual involved deserves to be in The Hague.

not mine. found on reddit, but my god scam bots on ao3 are both embarrassing and hilarious 😭 I was told their usual goal was to either get users’ personal informations/money through fake commissions or get them to delete their fics so that these bots could ‘safely steal their works to train their ai without writers being able to claim ownerships of their own works since the original sources were deleted’ but I don’t even know what the point of this is. just to scare people for fun? because some people might unfortunately believe them. just to troll?

I was also told that if they were commenting as a guest comment, they sometimes used the urls of random innocent and legit users (since anyone can use any name they want if they’re commenting as a guest user), which is just bad for the innocent users who were impersonated by these losers.

anyway, if you got a comment like this, report them for scam.

it’s also important now more than ever for us all to leave nice comments on the fics we like. with the rise of scam bots plaguing ao3’s comments section, getting a genuine, nice comment from a real person means so much to writers who gave us these wonderful fics to enjoy for free.

truly some people have no genre savviness whatsoever. A girl came back from the dead the other day and fresh out of the grave she laughed and laughed and lay down on the grass nearby to watch the sky, dirt still under her nails. I asked her if she’s sad about anything and she asked me why she should be. I asked her if she’s perhaps worried she’s a shadow of who she used to be and she said that if she is a shadow she is a joyous one, and anyway whoever she was she is her, now, and that’s enough. I inquired about revenge, about unfinished business, about what had filled her with the incessant need to claw her way out from beneath but she just said she’s here to live. I told her about ghosts, about zombies, tried to explain to her how her options lie between horror and tragedy but she just said if those are the stories meant for her then she’ll make another one. I said “isn’t it terribly lonely how in your triumph over death nobody was here to greet you?” and she just looked at me funny and said “what do you mean? The whole world was here, waiting”. Some people, I tell you.

Tales of the Teen Titans Issue #53. The panel depicts the exterior of the courthouse, with a conversation happening within: "...Objection, Your Honor. I cannot allow these masked vigilantes to testify against my client when they refuse to give their true names." "Objection overruled. The ruling in the 1979 "Joker vs. the Batman" case made acceptable a proven masked crime-fighter's need for the preservation of a personal identity, even in a court of law."ALT

the pro-death penalty attitude irradiating this issue is kind of annoying but more importantly. i love that this ruling exists. it’s unfortunately making three jokers even more annoying to me.

I read an old interview with a male sex worker who talked about how some women know exactly what they want while others have a hard time admitting it, and he enjoyed trying to make them come out of their shell. As an example he used a customer who was too shy to admit she wanted him to be submissive so he basically became a power bottom to guide her through it. I thought that sounded like a really cute start to an erotic story I’ll never write so I just made this comic page instead.
