im emotional about food , music , human connection , the way the streetlights were orange in 2009. whatever
maybe I've been staring into the abyss of dracula paprika discourse for too long but what if the real answer to this mystery lies not in whether the paprika hendl itself was spicy or sweet or salty but in asking if it's a coincidence that this vampire novel with a lot of motifs of disturbed sleep starts off with someone getting so thirsty that he can't quench it no matter how much water he drinks, having terrible dreams all night which he directly attributes to this thirst, and then voluntarily going back to eat more of the dish that made him so thirsty in the first place
and, of course, noting down that he'd like to bring this foreign thirst-inducer back home to share with his bride-to-be
everything so scary & forever .
trans women: ugh i'm so tired of being seen as a disgusting worthless sex object
50% of people: aww don't worry i see you as a desireable sex object <3
other 50% of people: i just combed through your social media account and found out you have expressed sexuality several times before, even as recently as just last week. if you're not gonna be perfectly chaste and completely repress this emotion that most people have then you can't expect people not to see you as a sex object. you basically are one anyways

Us the venezuelans

they should. give me one thousand dollars every month so i can commission artists who are very clearly unwell
getting jabbed by one of those sexy unethical nurses w/ a giant syringe but then she deposits it into a giant syringe disposal box because she's not That unethical
Good for this person. This is exactly what you do. Screw the job.
I had a job that made me work an all nighter, 30 hours straight, over Thanksgiving. I resigned that Monday and it was one of the most satisfying decisions I’ve ever made.

Please pay attention to all the manipulation tactics this boss uses, because they’re pulling out every trick in the book.
- “I’m not your boss, I’m your friend”
- “Other people will be hurt by this and it’s your fault and I’m going to tell them all that”
- Mocking language
- Jobs are important too
- “Be a team player”
- “We’re your family too”
- Talking as if this is a thing you must do
- “We all make sacrifices”
- Undermining your authority
- “You caused all of this, really”
- Accusing you of being “unprofessional”
- “Look at the money you cost us”
- “Just laugh it off and come back to work”
This is like a 101 course in how employers use guilt trips to coerce you into putting up with their bullshit. This is precisely why you should never trust those employers who insist that they’re “like a family.” They are not. It’s just a ruse so that your boss can neg you into putting your job ahead of your actual life.
Also the big one: “Answer your phone” or “Call us” so that whatever happens isn’t documented in text.
btw if youre young and scared of doing adult things without your parents ive learned that like 90% of the time you can just tell the doctors office or the dmv "haha sorry ive never done this without help before... can you show me how to do this?" the employee will not care. if that means anything to you
