First Jobs Academy - Empowering Kauaʻi youth through skill building, career connections, and taking action towards a successful future

First Jobs Academy is a youth work development program at Hale ʻŌpio Kauaʻi. We service youth ages 14-25 through community workshops, classes, and 1:1 mentoring. We aim to connect our youth to local mentors and employers who will continue to support our youth in building work and life skills. This program isn't just for those who are looking for a first job (although we do help with that) it's for any teens and young adults who want support with career exploration, job search, work skills, connecting to employers, money habits, academic plans, goal setting, etc. 

Our goal is to empower and support you in finding a fulfilling career, building valuable life skills, and creating a meaningful life.

Schedule 1:1 Mentoring for Teens

First Jobs Academy is lucky to have amazing community partners and volunteers from various professions and backgrounds who share their time, expertise, and resources with our Kaua'i youth. 

We are always looking for partners and volunteers to share about their professions, mentor a youth interested in their field, be a guest speaker at a class/workshop, help build important work and life skills, etc.

We want our local youth to hear from local professionals and people with lived experience and knowledge! If you're interested in learning more or partnering with our program please email Sariah at smokuahi@haleopio.org
